Black of color with a beige head. An aroma of roasted malt, prunes, sweets, chocolate and raisins. A flavor of syrup, prunes, roasted malt, weak bitter, alcohol and raisins.

A thick dark beer with an unnervingly white head(!) that seems to have avoided taking on any colour despite the roasted malts, high ABV, or aging in the rum casks. Sweet, buttery aromas, with some alcohol lingering, not much really (why is this beer kegged!?). Much mellower than anticipated - a buttery, cake-mix flavour leads the way, smooth and surprisingly light on the palate. Some apple in the finish, turning what was a fairly one-note sweet, malty beer into a surprising sour-finisher. Quite fun.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a clear reddish brown with an off-white head. Heavy sweet caramel, oxidized wood and booze. Solid body, caramel, vanilla, wood, whisky and some warming alcohol in the finish. Not even close to an Imperial Porter, I’d call this a Barley Wine - and a damm good one. 090212

Powerful wood and fruit on the nose, and you spot the rum a mile off. Surprisingly thin though in the mouth although there is a real real punch of alcohol. Most of the flavour seems to disappear quickly though as a result. Not sure about this one.

Lleugerament dolça. Molt bona per acabar un bon àpat, fumar una cigarreta i escoltar el Lost Dogs de Pearl Jam.

It pours very dark ruby, with a thin tan head. The nose is dark fruit, port, rum, wood, alcohol, Christmas pudding and blackcurrant. The taste is blackcurrant, currants, raisin, black grape, liquorice, alcohol warmth, port and fig pudding. Full body and fine to lo low carbonation. A very fruity and tasty brew.
