A collaboration brew between BrewDog and Mikkeller. This different vintage was brewed in 2009 with a 1/3rd of the beer being aged in a speyside whisky cask before being blended back with the base beer in 2010. The result is a 13.8% barley wine.
NOTE: This is a different recipe to the previous batch and is clearly labelled as Devine Rebel 2010. If the bottle does not say 2010, the rating should go under the first batch.

Darkguardian brought this gem over, and man it was great. Garnet colored. The aroma had veins of malt, whisky and smoke. The taste was outstanding, especially as it warmed up. The flavors were malt, oak, mild whiskey, light smoke, with a hint of chocolate, burnt caramel, and dark fruits...

Amazingly smooth for such a high vol beer. Has a taste of whiskey about it and a woody aftertaste. Excellent choice!

Bottle pours clear copper with off white head. The aroma is full and bold with rich notes of pine hops mixing with some grapefruit citrus hops as well as some malty sweetness and spicy hops at the end of the draw. Yes, this is going to be goooood. The taste is thick yumminess with rich pine hops that roll from flavor hops right into firm bitterness, grapefruit hop bitterness and much lesser amounts of floral hops showing up here and there. This is all yummy goodness!

The nose is delicious, featuring Scotch whisky, malt, prunes, dark berries and fruit jam. Dense murky dark brown colour suits the style. A well balanced taste profile leads with some booze, prunes, brown sugar, toffee and tropical fruit. Some oak as well as fruity hops create some edge on a rich sweet beer.
