COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: I Hardcore You is a 9.5% Imperial India Pale Ale, an international collaborative effort between 2 of Europe’s most rock ’n roll brewers. This beer is a blend of BrewDog’s Hardcore IPA and Mikkeller’s I Beat You. After the blending, the beer was then dry hopped a further twice. Making I Hardcore You a beer which has been dry hopped four times, or maybe even six times. We kinda lost count.

This one pours a very pretty clear, red-orange color with a good, sticky, off-white head which fades slowly leaving great lacing. Nose is an amazing smell of spicy, piney, citrusy, grassy hops. Like a hop orgy in my nose! Pink grapefruit, apricot, beautiful fresh hops with an underlying sweetness from the malt. Taste is initially sweet malt, but just for an instant before it transforms to apricot, grapefruit and pine as it rolls over the tongue, carrying a significant bitterness that tingles the tongue, balanced by sweet caramel, then punches through the back of the throat leaving a touch of warmth and a long, sustaining hop bitterness on the swallow and light fruitiness and i can’t shake the taste of bitter chocolate in the aftertaste... Excellent!!!

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. This one is served in a Mikkeller tulip glass, a mighty good-looking hazy, reddish orange body with a medium white cushion-like head. Aroma is big, fruity hops with spruce, licorice, grass, honey melon and kiwi. Taste is no less, lots of fruits and grassy hop flavors - just the way I like it! Smooth, yet full-bodied palate. A solid DIPA from Mikkeller/BrewDog; this seems to be one of their best genres in my opinion.

Orange-brown coloured, good sized head, colapse ok, sticks nice to the glass. Smell is nice sour-sweet, caramel, hops, fruits and spices. Decent smell. Taste is nice balanced between bitter sour and sweet. Fruits comes trough, also the sweetness, and a nice moderated biterness from the hops. Pretty nice one.

Draught at the Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Aroma of pumpkin, flowers, hops, herbs. Interesting orange-blood orange body, small off-white head. Taste like a very high-quality IPA, but a bit clinical. Like it was put together just to get as strong as possible. Good finish though.

12oz bottle shared with Mikelovesbeer. The color on this baby just seemed perfect and very inviting. Dark brown tints with a fluffy head. A large amount of hops prevail in the aroma swiftly followed by citrus, such as grapefruit. The flavor is somewhat over consumed by the hop presence but you get a good amount of the malt back with a bitter finish. Well balanced and easily drinkable.

Bottle. Bright orange with thick white head. Nose is big dank hops and thick grainy malts. Flavor is thick grainy-bready malts, alcohol warming, resin and citrus hop flavors, touch of grass, high hop bitterness, finishes slightly sweet. Full body, chewy texture, modest carbonation. A very big and bold DIPA with a hefty malt presence to even out a large hop bill, strong and flavorful throughout, very solid!

Draught at the bar. Low fluffy off-white and quickly disappearing head. Hazy dark amber body. Roasted barley malt caramel fruity hoppy aroma. Relatively sweet barley malt caramel flavor with a long aftertaste and low carbonation.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy bright orange color with a very large creamy white head, lots of lacing. A sweet nose of intense hops, floral as well and citrus, apricot and oranges. A smooth but powerful flavor; citrus, orange peel, lots of caramel and malt balance, leaves the palate bitter and dry. A full creamy mouthfeel. Lovely.

Tasted up against the Brewdog/Mikkeller collaboration beer I Hardcore You in NYC, and the I Hardcore was the clear winner. Beer pours nice dark amber colour with nice hoppy aroma with pine needles, grapefruits, tropical fruits and toffee and bready notes. Bitter flavour full of complex hops with a bit of sweet caramel malt in the background, some fruits, and a very bitter, piney finish with a bit of resinous notes. Great beer, would like to try it up against the Hardcore IPA 2nd edition.

Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks bro fro ano mot! Pours a bright orange golden with a sudsy white head. Kinda smells like the Founders Double Trouble I had recently which I am pretty sure was at least 3 months old. The dude there said it was fresh, but it did not taste like it had in the past and isn’t that a seasonal? Anyway, my point is that this beer tastes like a double ipa with some age on it. Or maybe this is just how this beer is designed. A strong, sweet, slightly syrupy malt character predominates the nose and it follows suit with the flavor. The lingering hop flavors are there as well but the malt seems to take center stage. Alcohol is there and evident, but not too overpowering.
