COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: I Hardcore You is a 9.5% Imperial India Pale Ale, an international collaborative effort between 2 of Europe’s most rock ’n roll brewers. This beer is a blend of BrewDog’s Hardcore IPA and Mikkeller’s I Beat You. After the blending, the beer was then dry hopped a further twice. Making I Hardcore You a beer which has been dry hopped four times, or maybe even six times. We kinda lost count.

Bottle at home. Pours a claerish amber with an off-white head and lacings. Strong hoppy smells - Nelson Sauvin? Bitter with stong hops aromas. Hints of spruce. Also aromas of alcohol. Full bodied. Medium to high carbonation. Long bitter finish with more hops.

Bottled (thanks to the Cad). Copper colour, small head. Aroma is lots of fruity, floral and grassy hops along with some mild sweet malts and bready notes. Slight hints of alcohol as well. Flavour is being quite much the same. Still a rather nicely balanced brew.

On tap at the Rake, Southwark, on 17 August 2010. Did I have this previously from the bottle at the fonefan 50 celebrations? I’m sure that I did but I seem to have failed to make any notes. Which is a shame as I would have liked to be able to make some sort of comparison. Gingery colour. Loads of hops throughout - no surprise there. Strongly resinous but also quite moist and sticky. Sweet and rich on the palate with a full mouthfeel and some stewed fruit. All this made for a lot of flavour but compromised drinkability. Like the previous rater I think half a pint would have been enough for me. Unfortunately I had ordered a pint on the basis that there wasn’t really anything else that I wanted and it seemed pretty decent value for money. In the end I found it a bit of a struggle.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2013 On keg at The Rake, London. reddish amber in colour with a nice off-white head that disippates fairly quickly. Huge aroma of grapefruit and hops. On the palete it had a very oily smoothness that completely coats the mouth. The flavour is an in your face citrus hopand calms down to reveal a nice sweet toffee. A very big beer, but a half pint was enough for me.

Aroma:Sweet and hoppy, cotton candy and citrus. Amazing aroma! Appearance:Amber, nice head volume and retention. Taste:There is a huge hops hit right up front. Once you get past the bitterness, sweet citrus and peach flavors show themselves. The bitterness then comes around again in the aftertaste. Palate:Light to medium body, just a little astringency, very smooth for an IPA. Overall:This is one of the best IPAs that I’ve had so far.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2010 2nd August 2010. Fonefan in the Masters Division - Jan’s Birthday Bash.
Sample from the bottle thanks to the Cad. Clear amber beer. Light semi dry palate. Massively grassy hops. Sweet pineapple and grapefruit and then a touch of bitter orange. Nice beer and well joined up but like Mes I was expecting this one to smash it out of the park. Gives it a good tap. 7-4-7-4-13 3.5
22nd October 2010 - bottle at home.
Cloudy amber beer. Strong caramel malt base. Huge amout of piney hop - bittersweet. Palate soft and creamy. Aniseed near the finish. Better, muc better!
