COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf

Bottle from Õllepood nr 1 Gambrinus in Tartu (€ 5,50), August 2014. Batch 235. Pours a deep dark mahogany or copper with a light head that retains well and leaves some lacing. Nose is hops, caramel, red berries, plums, autumny earthiness. Downright awesome. Gets maltier as it warms. Taste is... that’s heavy stuff here... more malty, boozy, ripe autumn fruits, slight liquorice. Full body, viscous syrupy texture, medium carbonation. Very long, bitter, malty, boozy finish - also dry and a bit winey even. Overall a sweet and boozy barleywine yet somehow it’s neatly balanced and terribly enjoyable. Perfect for a cool Sunday night at home or a hot Friday night at a bar with good company.

Tap at brewdog shepherds bush. Pours a dark red caramel colour with an off white head. Aroma has caramel, light fruit cake, a little honey... Medium to full body, light to medium carbonation. Sweet with light treacle, lemon, fruit cake, light sherry, some booze... Too sweet for me, but nice enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared a bottle with Rik at home 21-8-2014 while watching soccer. I really liked this beer. It’s like a more compelling version of Alesmith Grand Cru. Sweetness combined with a strong alcohol taste and hints of bitterness. The sweetness is rich and boozy. It reminds me of brown sugar and raisins. The taste is grabbing and dominant, like that.

Doft av portvin. Hade nog vunnit på något års lagring. Lite spretig. Annars än en enkel Barley med en söt eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Decently done barley wine with light hint of smoke and lots of caramelized malt. Pours dark maroon. A fair amount of booze. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter. A little syrupy. Tap at Black Squirrel.

Pours deep amber with crema like head. Aroma is strong hops up front. Flavor is pretty strong aroma hops, but a really delicate hop bitterness that doesn’t get in the way of the sweetness of the barley wine. Mouthfeel is awesome, smooth,

Third from Brewdog bar. Transparent dark brown ale with no head. Aroma of raisins dark fruit and rum. Warmth from alcohol and a deep sweetness as well as a strong bitter aftertaste. Slightly prickly and very oily.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a hazy amberish brown with foamy light caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells bittersweet with notes of hops and caramel. A touch of raisin as well. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Tap @ BrewDog Camden, medium sample, served in a tulip glass. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma of licorice, fruity, raisin, caramel, cookie. Medium bitter in taste, quite some cookie sweetness as well, licorice again. Liked this one more than the lighter Clown King. Had it with the BrewDog burger at the side, which was good.

This a beautiful looking beer. It has a reddish/brown color with a low head when first poured. The aroma of the beer is very appetizing and invites you to enjoy it. The taste is a little too strong for my liking. It does have good flavor but you can taste too much alcohol in the aftertaste.
