Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Really enjoyed this. Deliciously boozy. Thick and sweet. Teeth wobbling. Throat asserting. Very hoppy, but the bitterness is balanced mit the schweetness.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Bottle, pours clear chestnut brown, thin white head. Aromas of apples, toffee, citrus, oak. Green apples at the back of the mouth in the finish, sweet caramel and alcohol during the sip. Bitterness is long in the finish, a little floral and with warming alcohol too. Slick and medium bodied. Quite tasty.

BrewDog lager alt for mange forskjellige øl, men denne er verdt å gjenta. Dufter og smaker av fiken og krydder. Skibsreder Ovesen er i ferd med å feste fortøyningene, vi nesten ved veis ende for i kveld.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Chestnut colour. Very nice aroma of American hops, malts and hints of oak and molasses in the background. Hoppy flavour, fairly bitter, not as boozy as many other barleywines. Still, this is heavy fuel.

deep crystalline indian red colour. Glossy slick beige head. Nose of dark fruits and a trace of cough syrup&caramel. Smooth, full and somewhat sticky in the mouth. Decent start and middle palate but shortish end. Quite potent. Not bad.

Bottle at Haket, Göteborg. Clear amber beer with a nice offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, fruity notes, figs, dades, bready notes, some glue. Hoppy caramel flavor, grapes, glue, bready notes, warming alcohol. Not my kind of barley wine.

On tap at Bishops Arms Savoy. Not really what you’d expect from a barley wine, just a hint of sweetness and not very malty. The hoppiness is what dominates this beer together with a strong punch of alcohol.
