COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

Bottle at Haket, Gothenburg.. Clear amber beer with a offwhite head. Malty and fruity aroma. Hoppy flvaouyr with malty and caramel notes. Not the best barley wine I had..

Tap at RJ. Aroma is rich malty, caramel, but showcasing generous use of American aroma hops. Citrusy, orange, light resiny. Clear dark brown to ruby colour with stable head. Taste is initially cloying with caramel, chocolate and fruits, but after a moment gets cut through by decisive citrusy and zesty hoppiness, finishing balanced with long duration. Not a beer for faint-hearted. Glorious American barley-wine.

Caramel colored pour, cream colored head. Very resiny and fruity barleywine. I am not a fan of overly hoppy Barleywines and this one crosses the line slightly for me. Sweet, caramel, golden raisins. Just a bit too hoppy.

Fľaša. Tmava bordova farba, bena veskera ziadna. Vona ovocna, sladka, jemne karamel a med. Trosku prezrete slivky. V chuti na zaciatku velka sladkost, citit sialene alkohol. Neskor ovocne krasne tony, jemne citrus, prezrete visne najskor, prezrete slivky neskor. Stredne telo, stredna nasytenost. Pre mna prilis sladke, ale velmi pitelny barley wine.

Has the colour of a good tawny port, it was a cold night but this barley wine fixed that, a big boozy number I couldn’t distinguish the aromas or flavours but really enjoyed the experience, found it to be well balanced, excellent.

skortila (5240) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 6, 2014
On tap@Beertemple. 25cl sample. The aroma has some raisin, toffee, prunes, not too much hoppiness, booze. Clear, copper-brown coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is medium sweet with some bitterness. There is raisin, sugar cane and booze in the taste mainly. Full and powerful, but lacking complexity and balance. Nice, but not a star.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv malzig, hopfig, reifes Obst. Geschmack sehr malzig, überreife Früchte, Alkohol, hopfig bitter im Abgang.
