COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate
Hops: Chinook, Cascade, Citra
Twist: American style Barley Wine brewed with Oskar Blues

Aromas of alcohol, grassy tones, caramel. Deep amber in color. Fading pillowy head. High sweetness, medium carbonation, medium bitters and a slight dry aftertastes followed by a warmth of alcohol in the stomach. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

A really good beer bit not amongst the favourites. Strong enough as a barley wine beer but it is best combine a night out.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours dark red with a nice tanned head. Smell of citrus, grapefruit, caramel, dark fruits, herbs, quite complex aromas. Heavy sweet, full of dark malts, hints of toast, caramel, dark fruits, citrus zests and hints of pine. Heavy bitter, resins and zests. Dark sinful barleywine with comlex dark malts and heavy citrus hops. Done before of course, but this is very well done; just a delight

Top.

Cervesa maltosa i alcoholica. En boca l’alcohol es nota massa pel meu gust. El final es dolç i amarg al mateix temps.

un peu de caramel, plein de fruits secs, légère amertume qui équilibre bien le sucre, longue, très bien faite.

16/VI/14 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 7/X/18 (2014-645)

Clear deep ruby red to purple beer, big irregular fluffy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: mandarin begin peeled, caramel, bit spicy, some strawberry jam, sugary. MF: soft carbon, full body, thick cloying texture. Taste: bit sour, citrus, pretty bitter, medicinal, unpleasant, piny and resinous, sugary touch on warming up. Aftertaste: very bitter, dry and sour, resinous, some jam, fruity, some chocolate, mocha touch, dry, hoppy, some citrus, medicinal, orange peel bitterness, syrupy sweet ending. Hard to tell why, but this one doesn’t really work. One of the less impressive BrewDogs. Damn expensive as well. :(
