Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

MattiasA (862) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 9, 2014
On tap at Bishops Arms Savoy. Not really what you’d expect from a barley wine, just a hint of sweetness and not very malty. The hoppiness is what dominates this beer together with a strong punch of alcohol.

I had hoped for more. Good but not great. Lacked complexity. Not great satisfaction. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Copper body, medium to small head. Hoppy and boozy aroma with carrots and gin. Not very coherent. Taste has some burnt rubber with boozy carrots and gin. Finish is dry and bitter with hops. The big bitterness prevents you from detecting any other tastes or flaws there may or may not be. This is a big boozy DIPA and not so much a Barley Wine. Completely unbalanced. Now my palate is trashed and I can’t rate any more beers tonight. I liked their other collaboration barley wine "Bitch Please" a lot more.
