COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

Bottle, from Steamworks in Vancouver. Murky reddish-brown pour with a small light-beige head. Aroma is caramel, nutty and a little bready, some raisin, hints of citrus and tropical fruits - smells quite big for the ABV. Taste is caramel and a little nutty as well, some bread and fruit notes, lighter and less sweet than the nose. Finishes with slight citrus, dry and a little bitter, nicely balanced. I’m rarely excited to try an amber ale, but for this I was - and it lived up. An outstanding example for the style.

Arômes de houblon, robe rousse. En bouche le côté agrume du houblon ressort plus fortement que le caramel du style ’red ale’. Pas mal.

A crisp, refreshing taste of caramel and hops. Notes of citrus dominate, has a slight wooden aftertaste of pines. Easy to drink, very pleasant.

ALIBALI (684) - Kiel, GERMANY - AUG 24, 2016
Dezent englischlastiger Smell. An an Beeren & Cognac erinnernder Duft.

Strong aroma of apples and cherries. Even as you are about to sip, the you are immediately struck by the aroma. The flavor is very different. Figs, prunes, caramel and pine. It’s probably fantastic... I am just so happy with the aroma, I find the actual flavor disappointing.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2016 Easily drunk. Nice looker. Red hue and rocky head. Tbh a bit musky on the nose but very nice in mouth. Citrus notes are in there before bitternes. Definitely red berries too. Sour ending
