COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Marris Otter, Crystal Malt Hops: Simcoe, Chinook, Nelson Sauvin, Centennial Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2011 330ml bottle. Rich, fruity, floral aroma, citrus flavours. Pours a dark amber with a medium head. Taste is fruity, sweet and caramel, followed by a lightly bitter citrus flavour, medium carbonation. Very pleasant beer which flavours linger after drinking

330 ml bottle. Clear reddish coppery colour, thin but persistent off-white head. Lovely citrus-fruity, floral-hoppy aroma. The flavour is toasted, caramel-malty, with an aromatic, grapefruity hoppy finish. Good stuff, especially considering the low alcohol content.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2012 On tap at Allt om Öl Festivalen in Eskilstuna. It poured an almost clear brown-golden liquid with a light brown head. Lots of hops in both smell. Nice beer with a complex hop aroma.

33 cl bottle @ Ämmälänkylä, BBE 14.07.2012. Rated on 27.08.2011
Aroma has nice, fresh hops and resin. Resin-like hops and sweetish malt are in balance in the flavour. Very good amber!

Dark copperbrown beer with a almost medium and dark beige head. Aroma is stunning, peaches, tropical fruits, some pine needles and fructose. Taste is also tropical fruity, caramel, some roastiness, short and almost watery aftertaste. Medium bodied and quite harsh to drink. Stunning aroma, but taste is only average and slightly harsh, frustrating.

Really quite nice. Bright floral and grapefruit hops, balanced by dry caramel malt. Great balance. Pretty aggressive bitterness on the finish.

Lysande!

330ml bottle from Alko

BBE 14.07.2012 - Pours amber red with a small foamy head. Excellent fruity aroma with notes of citrusy hops and malts. Taste is also quite fruity with notes of fresh hops, malts and some bitterness. Smooth, slightly bitter finish. Medium bodied and carbonated. Great, easy to drink and tasty amber ale.

Bottle. Not one of their strong ones but packed with flavour.Floral and fruity with hops present as well. A lot of body considering its fairly low strength. Another winner from this brewery that demonstrates that you can have lots of flavour without overpowering strength.
