COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2014 Copper orange clear beer with plenty of off-white head leaving lacing on the glass. Aroma has caramel malts sweetness, nuts, resin and piney fresh hops. Taste is caramelly malty sweet, nutty and piney bitter. Finish has lots of bitterness with resin. Little fuller than medium full palate, medium carbonation. I liked this better when I was new to craft beer.

Wow! Very hoppy, fruity, floral amber ale. A lovely amber colour and a great foamy head. resin, floral, grass, spruce, citrus, herbs, hay, ginger this beer has it all. A nice complex ale due to huge amount a different hops varieties added using different hopping methods. The appearance is amber to red but clear. A nice full bodied beer that is smooth and lively. A great beer from one of my favourite breweries.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 Very tasty beer. Amber brown look with creme, almost golden, froth. Looks very inviting. Smell is floral, citrus (grapefruit), hop, malts and sweet caramel. Flavor is likewise with a very nice body and well balanced sweetness and smooth bitter. Medium thick with a sugary nectar like texture and well balanced carbonation. Excellent beer!

12 oz. served into a SA perfect pint glass. A - Slightly hazy amber with a 1 finger lightly tan head. Some lacing left S - Toasted bread, caramel malt, golden biscuit crust, honey, bold bready yeast. T - Slightly toasted caramel malt, golden biscuit crust. Honey rounds it off with a kiss of sweetness. Bright stone fruit, mint, sweet citrus, and some pineapple. M - Full lush body with creamy carbonation. One of the better amber ales I’ve had. Hits all the marks with flying colors for the style. Yeast is strong but balanced. Excellent malt backbone with a variety of synergized flavors to keep it exciting. I would seek this out for sure. Serving type: bottle 12-23-2011

Great balanced between the hops, that little residual sweetness and malty goodness. A great Hoppy Amber to match any I’ve tried from over the pond!
