5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

Do i recommend it?: yeah, well if you want a quite funny beer to drink with alot of taste and sweetness ok. But it does not fully fold into my taste. Will I drink it again?: probably not in a couple of years. Maybe ice cold (god forbid) a warm summers eve ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Brisbane Brewhouse. Pours crimson with modest head. The broad malt base is reminiscent of an Irish red, but with a hoppy kick. A most enjoyable brew, but I would like to try it closer to the source.

Bottle 330ml. Nice clear amber with big beige head. The aroma has notes of citrus and caramel with hint of onion and butterscotch. Bitter-sweet flavor with notes of caramel, citrus and some onion, piney and a bit alcoholic. Medium-bodied. Well balanced amber ale.

Pours clear, copper-colored. Dappled tan head. Aroma has a lot of citrus and pine. Medium-light body, slightly oily. Bitter-ish. Not quite what I was expecting from an amber aie. Pretty good, though.

Cloudy dark amber/brown with mouldy head. Strong aroma of cascade hops (lots of pine) but very little of that comes across in the flavor. Flavor is fresh and hoppy, more like an IPA than a red, quickly finishing with a watery feel.

Red colour with a off white head that does not hold, leaving some lace. Aroma of tropical fruits, dark fruits and chocolate. MEdium to light body, rough palate, fizzy carbonation. Taste of tropical fruits, malts, caramel, bit thin.
