COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

330 ml bottel. Pours red-brown with an off-white head. Aroma of light malt (bread) and moderate hops (grapefruit). Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Starts moderately sweet and bitter with an surprising flavor of mild coffee and hints of fruit acids. Not overly complex.

Tap at brewdog Big disappointment. Pours bright copper hue with a small soapy white head and sparse lacing. Nose is musty sweet and pretty boring. Seems old. Flavors are caramel sweetness lite hops. Sort of dull.

Caramel, clove and weed. Clear amber. Not too strong bitterness, the aftertaste is really pleasant. Ideal carbonation, could be a bit thicker though. Very enjoyable.

Amber with thick and lasting head. Strong aroma, rose, candy. Sweet, hops develop, smoky in the finish. Very drinkable and refreshing, lasting aftertaste.

Bottle from Drinks of the World Zurich. Lots and lots of grassy hops aroma. Spring-like. A little more malts than a pale ale making this a tad amber, but really not so much different. Sweet, medium body, good carbonation.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.
