5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.

Amber to coper coloured ale. Sweet / bitter with lots of caramel, malt and some hops in the taste. You describe it as a malty amber ale, because of the caramel and bread tast. It’s medium bodied, with a dry ending (use of pale ale malt?). The hops aren’t dominating but are present. Nice bitterness but in the end a little too astringent in my opinion. I bought it in Belgium maybe if you can drink it fresh, the hops will cause more balance and the bitterness will be less astringent.

Appearance: pours with a medium beige head, the beer is a very hazy bronze color that isn't transparent Aroma: strong caramel malt, spicy rye perhaps hard to pick up much else Taste: lightly toasted caramel malt sweetness with that gentle Scottish taste to it, has a very slight bitterness on the finish, very faint grain Palate: has a light mouthfeel, minimal caramel and bitter aftertaste, lively carbonation Overall: not a bad beer, has that Scottish feel to it throughout, sessionable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cor rubi, brilhante. Espuma boa, persistente e encantadora pelas rendas formadas no copo. Aroma de grãos e caramelo. No paladar forte herbal do lúpulo e retrogosto marcante e amargo. Única e espetacular!!!

Deep red with white head... malty, fruity, dry... Nice red ale, but maybe lacking a bit of body. Decent enough though.

Excelente red Ale. Vale muito tomar novamente ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour a clear shinny copper/ red color with an offwhite head. Aroma is caramels and some citrus. Same clean caramel and citrus on the flavor. Medium to light palate, ok and balanced but rather unidimensional.
