COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.

Interesting beer, comes across like an IPA up front but without the bitter finish. Has almost no aftertaste. Interesting, but not amazing. Looks great, nice body and decent woodsy pine aroma.

330 ml bottle at home. Almost clear red-copper color with nice off-white to beige head. Very nice hoppy aroma, piney, fruity (grapefruit), a little grassy-floral, sweet caramelish malty. Taste begins bittersweet malty with caramel notes and it becomes more bitter and fruity. Light to medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, very nice roasted bitter finish.

Bottle 33cl Pours copper with a thin creamy persistent head. Aroma is sweet caramel, floreal, black cherry and some citrusy. Taste is a little watery, subtle caramel, minty and a moderate bitterness that remains in the aftertaste... not for so long actually Light body with medium carbonation.

330ml bottle 5%. Pours dark red with high head. Lovely ripe red berry and hoppy aroma. Medium carbonation flavour is ripe berrys with a hoppy finish that is not overpowering. A good drink I would have again.

2014-06-28. Crisp dark copper amber body with a small creamy beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma of dusty caramel malt has a dunkel meets ESB like quality to it. Flavour is malty up front, dryish tangy biscuity caramel malt, moderate green hops with bit of an herbal/celery like quality to it. Mineral undertones, it leaves the palate a bit dry. Smooth average plus bodied palate, carbonation. Decent but not for me. On tap at BrewDog, Glasgow

smells like freshly sawed wood (?) cherries, and spices, dark golden red, thick foamy white head. swift bitterness, corriander and cherries hint of kelp (?!?!) really nice and enigmatic beer, would have been better if id had it cold.
