5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

Interesting beer, comes across like an IPA up front but without the bitter finish. Has almost no aftertaste. Interesting, but not amazing. Looks great, nice body and decent woodsy pine aroma.

On tap. Dark amber/scarlet colour with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma: Red berries, yeast, basement, wine. Very interesting. Taste: medium bitter start but doesn’t turns into ipa like bitterness. Very hoppy but well balanced. Light carbonation, medium body. Very pleasent bitter finish but a bit dry. Very good one.

330ml bottle from alko. Small white head, deep red or ruby colour. Aroma has mostly hops and fruitiness, but there is some caramel notes from the malts too. Light to medium bitterness and sweetness. Bit watery, but solid brew nonetheless.

Caramel, grass, a bit of nuts, nicely balanced, just not as intense as I have hoped after reading the ingredients. Overall good idea but maybe stronger execution could be in order.

Well, quite interesting and easy drinkable refreshing fruity, light hoppy brew. A bit too watery, almost like super watery barley wine. But overall I liked this brew, as I said, very good for summer, drinking at the beach.

Bottle. Clear red orange beer. Aroma of berries and grassy hops. Taste has bready malts with spicy flavours. Medium-bodied. Smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear sepia with a fairly thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma presents notes of woody hops, toasted malt, and a snip of caramel. Woody hops dominate the flavor, but share the stage with malt, resin and caramel tones for a very drinkable ale. Body is firm, though fizz is not overly strong; finish has hay and hoppy notes. Early in the morning or late at night, a worthy drink.

Aroma is toffee / caramel, pours red brown. Nice medium mouthfeel, average carbonation. Taste is sweet fruity toffee but with subtle bitter notes. Overall pretty good!

Fresh hoppy aroma with notes of malt and herbs. Ruby color and a bit hazy liquid. Fine head. Medium-high bitterness and medium sweetness for the style. Soft carbonation, medium-full body.
