COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.

Pours a somewhat murky amber red with a thin off white head. Aroma is a little muted; citrus and pine. Pine and resinous taste, not overbearing though. Weak and watery aftertaste with a slight bitterness. Reasonable mouth feel, a little light on but good coat and good carbonation.

Pours clear dark brown with small head. Fresh hoppy aroma with grass and some caramel. Taste is caramel, malty, a bit of fruit, medium bitterness. It’s a well-balanced and well-hopped red ale at a very reasonable ABV. Clean and refreshing - another winner from BrewDog!

Bottle from Tesco. Amber red with a thin head. Lots of hops but also a plenty of sweet fruits and a great balance of the two.

On tap at BrewDog Leeds. The saint starts off with hop aromas of tropical fruits and is dark red amber colored with a fine frothy but fast vanishing slightly red head. The flavor is dominated by fruity hoppiness with passion fruit and citrus and some malt in the background. The taste is unsurprisingly bitter with a strong hoppy finish. Very good amber ale!

33cl. Bbe somewhere in 04/15. Pours thick dark clear amber with nice reddish creamy head. High IBU drink. Caramel, vanilla, brown sugar/ molasses in taste. Very thick and fulfilling drink. Served rather cold, but wormed up during hot summer day and was refreshing for the whole time. Beautiful example of amber ale.

330 ml bottle at home. Almost clear red-copper color with nice off-white to beige head. Very nice hoppy aroma, piney, fruity (grapefruit), a little grassy-floral, sweet caramelish malty. Taste begins bittersweet malty with caramel notes and it becomes more bitter and fruity. Light to medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, very nice roasted bitter finish.
