3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (9177) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 30, 2009
Bottle. It pours a clear, golden body under a minimal white head. A bit weak on the nose maybe, but with a fine blend of pale malts and piney, citric hops. The flavor is a lovely blend of biscuity pale malts giving some sweetness, and hops giving all you can imagine. Generic fruityness, resin, grapefruit peel, green pine cones and a delicious bitterness. Medium body with a nice level of carbonation. The finish is really long, with fruity, citrusy hops givinig a wonderful bitterness, and leaving little space for the malts. A really quenching and easy drinkable beer, wouldn’t mind making this my regular pilsener. 090830

330 ml bottle. Golden body with a fine off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty with a hint of caramel, but mostly dominated with grassy and citric hop flavors. Flavor has a clean, light maltyness with a gentle sweetness in perfect balance with the crispy bitterness. Very refreshing, citric, grassy, hay and pine. Addictively drinkable, and very interesting to push the limits this way in a lager.

From the bottle beautiful inviting deep golden colour. The nose is quite full with yeast/toast & lots of caramel. Excellent body, very rounded, conditioning is good too, not too fizzy. There’s a nice bit of fruit, slight citrus, resin, wet grass, then a long bitter finish & hints of caramel agian. In its style a great beer, good weight, good balance, & avoids any soapiness.
