COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Think of everything you know about lagers. Then forget it all instantly. 77 will redifine the experience forever. A Lager that actually tastes of something? You have to be kidding, right? 77 lager is made with 100% malt and whole leaf hops. It contains no preservatives, additives, cheap substitutes or any other junk. Maybe we are crazy. So what? Taste 77 Lager and we are pretty sure you will agree that the fine line between genius and insanity has just become a little more blurred.

Pours a hazy light golden colour with a nice head that vanishes almost instantly. Aroma of malt and citrus fruits. Mouthfeel is on the light side, but ok for a pilsner. Flavour is quite sweet and a bit fruity, with a very nice and hoppy bitter finish. Probably my favourite pilsner/lager.

Pours a hazy ylowish gild color with a big white frothy top that dissipates quickly but leaves some lace. Smells of citrusy yeast notes. Taste is some yeast up front with a burst of citrus on the finish. Not a huge pilsner fan but really like this one.

Pours a hazy golden colour with a quickly dissapating and lacy head. Aromas of malt and citrus. Hoppier than I was expecting for a lager. Tastes of very light hops and malts, but the tastes are there. Not much body and a very slight dry malt on the finish. Very nice for a pilsener, especially compared to mass-produced American ones.

11/X/2012 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Erwin’s place - BB: 5/V/13 (2012-1130) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear blond to light orange beer, big irregular aery off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: pretty sweet and malty, hay, cow fodder, all bran, smalls very German to me. MF: soft carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, grains, some citrus, bitter and hoppy, little fruity. Aftertaste: sweet malts, some citrus, grains, bitter hops, bit grassy.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark golden with frothy white head. Aroma is grapefruit peel, basement, coriander, cardboard. Taste is medium bitter and sweet, and light acidic. Body is light oily with good carbonation. Finish is light bitter with notes of coffee, citrus, biscuit, cookies and white bread.

From can, bought in Bergen. Clear amber color. Aroma floral, citrus, hops clearly coming through. Well balanced bitterness and sweetness. I never thought a lager could be so good.

Aroma: The smell is citric, lemon, a bit 7up-ish or candy soda pops. A bit chemical.
Appearance: The beer is clear, golden with a white head that leaves quite some lacing.
Taste: The taste is sweet, with a chemical candy flavor of bananas, some biscuit from the malt. There is a hoppy bitterness at the end, possibly a bit alkaline.
Palate: A medium carbonation, and a dry feeling.
Overall: Hmm, I’m not convinced. It does not have the clean taste of a German pilsener.
Note: bottle. Reviewed 2010-02-18.
