Think of everything you know about lagers. Then forget it all instantly. 77 will redifine the experience forever. A Lager that actually tastes of something? You have to be kidding, right? 77 lager is made with 100% malt and whole leaf hops. It contains no preservatives, additives, cheap substitutes or any other junk. Maybe we are crazy. So what? Taste 77 Lager and we are pretty sure you will agree that the fine line between genius and insanity has just become a little more blurred.

Golden colour, medium off-white head, thick and creamy. Smell is surprisingly mild and malty, for a brewery that really talks the talk, still I fins some hops in there. Flavour is a disaster full of funky chemical notes that are just plain awful, it’s chocking to say the least! Mouthfeel is average. Brewdog what the hell are you doing?

Flaske på Internasjonalen, Oslo 19 Okt 09. Lys gylden på farge. Lavt luftig skum. Fruktig aroma. Smaken er svakt syrlig og litt vassen. Forsiktig bitter ettersmak.

Solid pils. Full bodied, with a malty toffee body and medium bitter finish. A bit full (bodied) for the style though.

pilsnerrogge (2618) - Finspång, SWEDEN - OCT 17, 2009
Bottled:
Pours deep golden with a fluffy head. Grass and malt aroma. Sharp carbonation. Flavour is hops, metal, apple juice. Flavours seem to go in all kinds of directions; no balance whatsoever. Long, unpleasant bitterness with notes of salty liquorice.

A nose of caramel and malt. Taste of bitternes and some hops with a hint of grass. A tad bitter finish. A good lager.

gyllenbock (5728) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 5, 2009
Bottle. Looked solid in the glass with the golden yellow color and large white foam. Malt, bread and som caramell. There was something chemical in the taste, not that good beer to be honest.

olsvammel (4008) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2009
It poured a clear golden liquid with a medium sized white foam that left a little bit of lacing. The smell was the best part of the beer, even though it wasn’t that good. A noticable smell of malt, bread and caramell. It had a smooth and dry mouthfeel. Tasted of malt, bread and a hint of caramell. But where´s the hops? Where’s the rebellion? In the end it’s just another average lager and doesn’t seperate itself from the rest.
