Taster from tap. Clear, dark amber. Smell of dried fruits and vanilla sweetness. Potpourri of sweet dark fruits in flavour sustained by earthy malts. Ends on the sweet side of bittersweet. Good drinking, a bit too sweet, though (Copenhagen Beer Festival 08.05.2010).

In short: A overly boozy sweet bronze ale with a body too weak to support its alcohol. Very boring
How: Bottle 375ml, corked and caged. Consumed approximately 2 years after bottling date. Bottle sent to me by grownfool, thanks Brian
The look: Cloudy bronze body topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose is higher alcohol that curled my nostrils hair and crème caramel. Taste is very boozy. For a such a high gravity beer the body was rather light, it tasted like a heavy beer in which someone had poured water, I could taste the big toffee malts yet I also had a watery sensation. Notes of toffee, caramel, ripe bananas. Alcohol burns the lips. Because of the rather frail body the 10.2% is not well hidden at all, I would have guessed even higher. Overall this was too simple and dominated by booze. Meh. And it should be spelled “Abstract” not “Abstrakt”, I hate when people massacre the english language, and the people who use “your” instead of “you’re” I think there stupid.

Dark brown and hazy, has sediment. Aroma is sweet malty, some alcohol, sweet sugars. Flavor is mainly sweet, warming alcohol, sweet candy, caramel, perhaps vanilla/perhaps not. Creamy, alcohol texture.

Bottle sample @ 2nd RBBSG, August 11th 2012. Courtesy of Travlr. Bottle 2954/3200. Another bottle in the sea of pricey gimmick Brewdog beers.

larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 20, 2010
Medium creamy shiny beige head. Brownish deep amber body. Strong fruity bubblegum aroma with syrupy vanilla alcohol notes is surprisingly harmonic. Sweet, and faintly dry, syrupy caramelly seeds of paradise and vanilla taste with Belgian yeast and alcohol notes. Again, surprisingly refined. Mild, smooth mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dryish minty spicy caramelly aftertaste with vanilla bubblegum and treacle notes. Nice, but the vanilla is a bit artificial for me. Also a bit too sweet. (0.33l draft at Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)

Svesse (5197) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 18, 2010
(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm) Ruby colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel and slightly piney hops. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, caramel, marzipan, treacle, dried apricots and citrussy hops in the finish. Full body, fairly sweet. Smooth and rounded mouthfeel with alcohol well hidden. The citrussy hop character matches the heavy malt profile perfectly, making this a very balanced brew. Excellent!

Bottle from the brewery, Hazy brown, lazy carbonation. Plastic "champagne" cork, you can do better, boys. Roses and herbs in the nose, sweet liqueur, almond bitterness, flowers. Toffee, malt, alcohol warming. Compelx beer, on the sweet side, but very enjoyable.

(375ml bottle #822/3200 bottled 1-29-10 thanks to James of BrewDog!) clear orange pour with light bubbles. Nose of apples, raisin. Taste of raisin, toastiness, apple. Disappointing given the ingredients listed. Has a nicely spicy finish. Had trouble describing the elements of this as well.
