3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled and served in the brewdog Teku glass. A rich vibrant ruby red with hints of dark orange in colour. Aroma is a rather sweet strawberry. The taste however is far from sweet. Very dry and crisp on the palete, with is quite bitter finish. The tartness of the raspberries really comes through in the aftertaste. I was quite surprised to hear this beer was aged in whiskey casks because i really wasn’t able to pick out any whiskey character in this beer. This is a really well made beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle was number 449 of 3200.
The aroma was promising with a nice touch of raspberry. The taste was not as good, too much alcohol and with a strange aftertaste of burnt rubber. The beer felt a bit off, not much carbonation. Not worth its price.

0.375 l bottle, thanks Sampo! Reddish amber color, creats lots of foam. Sweet perfumed aroma of raspberry and strawberry. Dryer and more acidic flavor with raspberry and bitter spiciness. Does not seem very oaky at first but the finish is very oaky and long with fruit liquer character. Slightly tannic palate. Surprising flavor combination of fruits, oak, alcohol and bitter spiciness.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle… South Florida Throwdown 2010… Clear maple syrup-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. Smells like boozy, woody, strawberry cough syrup… only worse. Light to medium-bodied and abrasive with tickling carbonation. The flavor is a boozy, bitter, fruity and acidic mess of a concoction. Finishes astringent and dry. Well, everyone else at the throwdown liked it a good bit. I think it’s a total mess of a beer. It rubs me in all the wrong ways and in all the wrong places. I’m a big BrewDog fan, but this one was a major disappointment for me. I’m still grateful to have had the opportunity to try it. Thanks go out to darkguardian for providing the bottles for all of us to share! I’m glad I was in the absolute minority at the Throwdown as far as the level to which I disliked this beer. Admittedly, only my craft beer bias prevented me from scoring this as low as the BMC beers.
