Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2011
Bottle from Utobeer (number 725 of 3200). It pours reddish amber, with a big white head. The nose is soft berry, jammy fruit, honey and wood. The taste of tart red berry, strawberry, raspberry, jam, massive alcohol character, wood, touch of tang, dryness and medicinal qualities, with a long aggressively warm finish. Full body, lively carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Too boozy and not enough fruit character and/or depth of flavour to balance it out. A bit of a letdown for me.

Bottle, 375ml corked. It pours an unclear, dark golden body and a minimal sized light beige head. Lightly sourish nose with berries and some caramel hints. Alcohol too. Caramel and raspberry flavor. Someone mentioned licorice. I don’t agree, but see what he meant. Full-bodied, warming and quite dry. Well, not my favorite in any way, but far from bad. 111112
