4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. I thought this was absolutely brilliant. Wonderful roasted malt aroma, with hints of cocoa and mocha. Palate is full bodied, yet seems fairly dry for a Imperial Stout, with some slight warmth/heat, Iím guessing from the chilly. Flavour seems to go on forever. Lots of mocha and roasty cocoa flavours coming through. Really good balance (as far as extreme Imperial Stouts go). Love it a lot.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from a trade, cannot quite remember who sent this, but thanks! Pours black with a dark chocolate brown head that dissipates nearly instantly and completely. Aroma has a good amount of chili on the nose that combines nicely with the roasted malts and coffee notes. Hint of backing chocolate. Flavor is a bit muddled with a bit of pepper, coffee, chocolate and roasted malts with the notes fighting with each other. Donít get chilies on the tongue. Beer is extremely flat, which doesnít really hinder it as it is a huge imperial stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle shared by Rencelas- thanks, Jason! Bottled 1/11/10, bottle number 205/3300. Pours a super dark brown color with a tiny beige head. Aroma of peppers, cocoa, licorice, cheese, soy, rust, berries, and green olives. Flavor of soy, chocolate, peppers, grapes, and smoked wood. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a robust mouthfeel that coats the palate with soy. Finishes smoky. Alcohol is really well hidden. This is a crazy, interesting beer with a lot of complexity and unexpected notes. Glad I got to try it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to crusianbeer for bringing this beer back from the UK.
The beer pours an inky black color with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of roasted malt, as well as some something that resembles soy sauce. The flavor is more complex. I get a lot of chocolate and some light soy, as well as some oak, vanilla and maple. There is also some alcohol. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle. Bottled on 01.11.2010. Bottle #2664 of 3300.
Pours a black colour without a head. Aroma of strong roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and some licorice-like notes. Flavour of strong roasted malts, oak, dark chocolate, licorice, sweet sugar and weak chili burn in the finish. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a finish of roasted malts, licorice and weak chili burn again. Oak feels a bit too. Good stuff, however, I was hoping for a hotter chili burn.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 ml bottle. Bottled on 01.03.2010. Bottle no 2664/3300.
Pours pitch black color with minimal beige head. Aroma of tar, peat, candy sugar, chocolate, sweet caramel malts and some vanilla. Flavor of sweet caramel malts, sugar candy, vanilla, very faint chili at the end. Quite mellow palate, overly sweet and a bit berryish. Very much like a berry infused DH3.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2011 375mL bottle, at The Wellington in Birmingham, pours jet black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of licorice, molasses, bourbon, oak and vanilla. Flavour is insanely rich and quite sweet, featuring oak, bourbon, molasses, roasted malt, burnt caramel and vanilla. Silky, rich, full-bodied palate, with the ABV extremely well-hidden. Outstanding.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: APR 30, 2012 Bottle from Brewdog (as well as on tap a while back at the White Horse). It pours opaque black with a very large caramel-coloured head. The nose is rich-roast coffee, dark chocolate, some chilli, a little soy, wood and alcohol. The taste is strong dark and milk chocolate, rich coffee, liquorice, pepper, cherry, alcohol warmth, smoke and tobacco, leading to a dry finish with chilli spiciness. Great balance between the chocolate and chill! Itís complex and very drinkable for the percentage. One of the best Brewdog beers I have had the pleasure of drinking.
