4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mcberko (4145) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 1, 2013
375mL bottle at The Bishop Arms Folkungagatan, pours jet black with just a few bubbles of brown head. Aroma screams coconut upfront, followed by decadent cocoa notes. The coconut and cocoa are pretty much the main two qualities on the nose. Flavour is intensely sweet, almost sickly sweet, but somehow fitting, with notes of coconut and cocoa upfront, a little caramel, and lots of residual sugars. This is fairly cloying in sweetness, but somehow it works. These uber-sweet impie stouts are usually detracting to me, but this one feels elegant and complex. Excellent stuff. Perhaps only second to Abstrakt AB:04 in the series. Inexplicably great.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 CarlJonas (135) - Linköping, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2013
Black, almost no head. Candy aroma, chocolate and coco toffee cream goodies. The taste is less coco and more soy sauce and madeira, some sort of weird liquor filled chocolate? Low carbonation, medium mouthfeel. Tokyo light?
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 molsson (6) - SWEDEN - MAR 19, 2013 does not count
Pours thick and black. No carbonation. Nose has massive amounts of chocolate. Taste is smoot, rich and chocolaty. Alcohol is not very obvious. A lighg bitterness in the very back of the mouth. Mouthfeel is a bit of, since there is no carbonation. Al in all, awesome beer, but really needed that carbonation to lift it.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 fletchfighters (837) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 4, 2013
Probably should have drank this on it’s own as this followed the 04.
Nose is nice as got good notes of fruit, chocolate and coconut.
Rest went downhill quite fast as quite sweet and syrupy. needed carbonation to lift this. Chocolate cake on crack I though. Slick, sweet and syrupy. Needed more dryness

1st March 2011 Opaque black beer, little tan head. Sweet coffee and dark malt nose. Soft and surprisingly light palate. Sweet dark malts, traces of coffee, chocolate and sweet brandy. The coconut is pretty subtle and on the back of the tongue. Trace of red berry fruits in the mid. Some aniseed alcohol but no real heat. Semi dry finish. Sweet, tasty and well joined up beer. Should be even better in a year or two.

Bottle. Pitch black. Roasted nuts, cocos, dark chocolate and a hint of ash in the aroma. Very sweet flavor with rye bread, cocos, chocolate, roast, speculaas and hazelnuts. No carbon. The oversweet flavor is a disappointment after the fine aroma.
