bottle... dark brown body, hardly any head at all... smells really good, great balance of sweetness and roast, coconut, vanilla, toasted molasses, with roasted malty chocolate... I wish the taste had the balance of the nose, too sweet, tons of coconut and a touch to thin, no coffee or chocolate roast or bitterness to balance... still a good beer, one of the better Brewdog beers, but just doesn’t live up to the nose

cryptobard (281) - DENMARK - OCT 15, 2011
Bottle. Black with a medium brown head. Sweet, due to the fruits, roasted, due to the malts, and bitter, due to the chocolate. The toasted coconut was pretty mild, pleasantly so even.

Bottle from a recent trade. Pours black with a deep espresso brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of of toasted coconut with a good amount of roasted malts and a good amount of both sweet and bitter chocolate. Flavor starts is full of toasted coconut throughout with sweet chocolate and a bit of backing alcohol. Good mouthfeel but a bit too sweet.

Countbeer (5034) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle #1909/3600: Small brown head, disappears quick, on top of a black beer. Smell oatmeal and raisin and hints of coffee, caramel, toffee and liquorice. Taste is liquid liquorice, with hints of coffee, herbs, grass, dark chocolate, brown sugars/sweets and oatmeal. Sweet light herby medium bitter light dry liquorice aftertaste. Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and a oily sticky texture. Live up to its name, abstrakt.

Way too big and imbalanced for me. Black and totally flat. Cherry, vanilla, milk chocolate, intensely sweet, nothing to balance it but lots of booze. For the price I paid for it at Cask in London where it was the only (really!) UK craft brew they had that wasn’t on the hand pump, you bet i drank it all. Otherwise i might not have.

Bottle. Pitch black with small, brown head. Intense coffee bean aroma mixed with some sugar. Initially unbalanced upon the first sip, being too sweet, it quickly moderates and turns into a deep melange of liquorice and moccha. Great warm, lingering aftertaste.

Bottle from Bierkompass. I had little bit problems to open it, but finally i was successful. Almost black color with medium frothy light brown color. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, woody hints. Taste surprisingly sweet, with coffee hints, chocolate. Not bad, but to sweet for me.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of soy sauce, roasted malt, and coconuts.
