Bottle (375 ml), courtesy of larsniclas. Black with beige head. Sugary, caramelly with harsh roasted and burnt notes. Full bodied, low carbonation. Ridicilously sweet, medium to high bitterness.

After having tried to get this one in Glasgow and Edinburgh I finally found a 375ml bottle at Mikkeller Bar. Bottle no. 1602, shared with two fellow Norwegians at the bar. Jet black body. Bright naked surface. Dark bread and sweetness of anise to the nose. Likable taste profile of dark fruits and dark berries on a vanilla oak backbone. Sherry impression. Long-lived ending with strong, but well integrated, alcohol warming down the throat. Superb sipper (Copenhagen, 09.05.2012).

375 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Bottled 20.02.09, number 2929/3600. Pours a deep, opaque brown color with a small dark tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate, molasses, charred oak, vanilla, coconut, and coffee. Flavor of molasses, dark fruits, caramel, fudge, coconut, vanilla, and oak- not as roasty as the nose. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and low carbonation. 12.5% ABV is totally masked. Really rich and smooth and nice.

Foffern (285) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 4, 2012
Bottle shared with (and great courtasy of) the fantastic Bergen tasting crew with such stars as ClubGonzo, Inbreak and Palme, and the mighty StoreMy. Has a deep brown colour, almost black, with a light brown head. Smells like dried fruit, prunes, dark chocolate, alcohol, leather, slightly burned, and surprisingly some cat piss. Dried fruits, leather and roast also in the flavour, with licorice, liqueur, port wine, black currant, and the beer feels slightly acidic. Oily mouth feel. A magnificent beer with a wonderful taste.

Bottle. Black with a tan head. Way too sweet both in the aroma and taste. 5 cl was enough for me. I did notice licorice, some vanilla, soy sauce and some wood.

37,5 cl bottle@ lusikka, bottle #1740, bottled 20.02.2011
Aroma is roasted and slightly sweet with cocoa. Flavour is oversweet with sugar and cocoa. Smooth palate. Some stinging alcohol starts to occur at the end of the glass. Like AB:04, but without the chili.

lusikka (2533) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 21, 2012
375 ml bottle. Bottled on 20.02.2011. Bottle #1740 of 3600.
Pours a black colour without a head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweet berries, coffee, coconut and some wood. Wine-like. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a roasty, sweet and berry-driven finish. Soft carbonation. A bit too sweet, but still really tasty.
