Bottle at the Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen. Well, you will probably either love or hate this "beer" but just to be difficult ... Im on the fence! There's no head and no lacing on this very dark beer. It's jam packed full of flavours for sure and the coconut and cacao are very evident. It's very smooth and quite refined, but it's no refreshing session beer thats for sure. Your taste buds will be dancing without doubt, but whether they will be dancing your dance only you can decide. Give it a try and form your own opinion.

This pours like treacle. Thick black with a dark tan head. Sweetness certainly plays a big part- almost like a Sheffield stout (i.e. Mather’s Black Beer malt liquor + lemonade) whilst chewing raw cocoa with an open wood fire burning in the other room. After talking to one of the brewers, asking what flavours the coconut imparted, I got the impression it didn’t bring much to the table, but just blocked up the FV. Indeed, not much coconut to be seen here. Slight notes of steeped raspberry and cherry. Ends up being quite hard going, but a great beer nonetheless.

Huge black pour with a large dark tan chocolate head. Nose is dark fudge, light roasted malt, a wisp of coconut, slightly earthy. Belgian influence is apparent. This one is fairly sweet up front with alot of chocolate and sweet dark malt. Finishes with a hint of roast and some lingering hazelnut (perhaps the coconut peaking through?). This is good but nowhere close to as good as Abstrakt 4 which was not only a solid imperial stout but a great treatment. There just isn’t enough of whats advertised in this one to set it above and the sweetness of the belgian influence makes it tough to finish the bottle. Has a nice lingering mocha aftertaste though. Solid but not amazing.
