3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 37,5 cl, bottled 16.05.2011. Poured dark brown in color with a thin bubbly tan head. Sweet malty, some roastedness and hints of licorice and some herbal notes in aroma. Dry mouthfeel. Salty licorice in taste at first that turns into more roasted notes and hints of wood later on. Oily texture. Some smokey notes and bit of booze or then again actually it might be more in the vein of some herbal notes as in a cough medicine that appears. Quite woody with some bitterness and dryness in aftertaste.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Deep black coloured with a shy ruby sheen, big and lacy stable off-white head, deep and solid plummy-fruity and chocolatey nose with a tinge of roasty molasses; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied; increasing bitterness in the dry molassy-leathery finish. Not really bad...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted on tap @Brewdog Man, on 30/10/2012.
Pours of almost black with just a tiny-tiny beige head.
Aroma is quite intense, very malty sweet upfront, having also notes of prunes, dark fruits and a faint hint of coffee somewhere in the back.
Low carbonation gives a good mouthfeel, taste is complex as expected, still sweet, notes of coffee and dark chocolate become more distinct.
Aftertaste is wonderful, long-lasting, packed of coffee and very bitter.
Incredibly delicious and complex beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A big fruity-vinous black ale that is hoppy enough to make it easy to drink. Good stuff.
How: Bottle 375ml at Amundsen Bryggeri, Oslo Norway
The look: Black body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is big pine tree resin, blackened malts some port wine. Taste is vinous, raisins, dark fruits of many kinds, black liquorice, molasses, hops resin, oily cookies, pine-tree sap, black cherries, some vanilla. Very little alcohol presence, the high abv is mostly well hidden. While it cannot be described as a hop-bomb is hoppy enough to balance the beer and there is a slightly sticky bitterness in the after-taste. This is like a hoppy carbonated black wine, if such a thing even existed. I found my bottle quite easy to drink so this monster gets bonus points for not tasting like a monster beer. This is really a badass tasty beer, and there are two things that are not for pussies, badass tasty beers and anal sex.
