(Bottle) Dark ruby colour with brief, bubbly head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, red berries, black-currant, caramel, port wine and oak wood. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, raspberries, black-currant, raisins, cherries in brandy, port wine, a touch of sweet liquorice and oak wood. Sweet, vinous finish with a slightly spicy bitterness. Full body. Warming alcohol glow shining through. Not really balanced, but very tasty and nice.

375mL bottle at Man in the Moon, pours a deep dark cloudy amber with a small beige head. Aroma of rich syrupy caramel, dark dried fruits, and alcohol. Flavour brings out extremely rich and deep treacly caramel, dried dark fruits (dates and figs), and a boozy quality that is incorporated very well and only serves to accentuated the palate. Very rich and deep -- quite sweet but not cloying. Great stuff -- definitely one of the better Abstrakt series beers.

37,5 cl bottle @ wPBF’13. Bottle #2840, bottled 22.09.2011
Aroma is sweet with whisky notes, vanilla and caramel. Feels very American. Flavour has oaky notes, vanilla, some bourbon and alcohol. Too much alcohol, sweetness and wood – but not bad anyway.

375 ml bottle @ WPBF 2013.
Pours a black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, caramel and some grass. Flavour of roasted malts, vanilla, whiskey and strong wood. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a roasty, vanilla, whiskey finish. Not that different from other Abstrakt beers. Good and rather heavy.

Garlic_of_Doom (193) - Bjärred, SWEDEN - APR 18, 2013
Bottle. Pours murky brown with no head at all. Aroma has loads of sweet caramel malt, juicy raisins, vanilla, some whiskey and woody notes. Taste is heavy on the malt, pretty sweet with raisins, chocolate and a slight alcohol burn. Warm, dry and bitter finish. Pretty sticky mouth feel though quite thin, medium carbonation.

Aroma og alcohol, toffee, licorice, caramel and hints of whiskey. Dark brown with no head. Taste like cough sirup, caramel and dark fruit liqueur. Little carbonation, flat and thick. Fantastic and rich smell, but to much cough sirup taste and to flat imo.

Uhlen (173) - Trondheim, NORWAY - APR 3, 2013
Deep red/brown-ish color. Almost no head. Sweet aroma of raisins, plums, chocolate, and a weird smell I can’t put my finger on. Cardboard? Seems off... Pretty watery mouthfeel. Taste is dark fruits aswell, with small hints from the barrel-aging. Heavy on the sweet side. Not getting alot of either malts or hops. This is more like a plum-liqueur tastewise. Beer or liqueur, still tastes great!
