3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma has lemon peel and strong but somewhat sweet maltiness with fruits and coffee. Mouthfeel is smooth and medium low carb. Aftermouthfeel is leathery. Taste is blackberries with a strong malty body. Aftertaste is leathery with blackberries being quite bitter. Bottled 061211, hence the dominating blackberryflavor. Not mindblowing but drinkable indeed, decently balanced with the high abv.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
375 ml corked (plastic cork, nearly impossible to open) green bottle, bought from Vinmonopolet (Nettbutikken) May/June 2012. Bottled on 06.12.11, bottle No. 5665 of 7902 ABV is 11.8%. Beautiful reddish brown colour, low off-white head. Strong oxidised aroma of malts, oak and fusel alcohols, hints of dried figs. Minimal carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is very oaky and oxidised, not very sweet, with moderate hops. Not worth the high price.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled 6/12/11, pours a clear golden brown, low carbonation, in the nose syrup, oats and biscuit malts. In the mouth quite sweet but evaporates to a well balanced slightly bitter finish, finishes really nicely. I’d describe this a really good and very strong British style ale. Enjoyed it.

33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via Brewdog online shop. Deep amber copper, zero head. Aroma of caramel, Christmas cake, vanilla. Woody first sip, more caramel. Quite sweet, then some balance from hops, but mostly sweet vanilla. Finish is long with rum and oak.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[375ml bottle, Appellation Wines, Edinburgh] Every inch the session golden ale on the pour – blondish yellow, with a thin, loose head. Surprising aroma - to be honest, it smelled very similar to opening a box of Sugar Puffs, only slightly vegetal at the same time. However, over the next few sips, the oatmeal really came through and it improved, albeit still whilst tasting breakfasty

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Really interesting experiment - they’ve managed to get the chocolate and liquorice aroma in, but the coffee is not quite there for me. Some sherry notes. Golden yellow in the glass, no lasting head to speak of. Sherry again in the taste, and marmalade. Neither a blonde nor a stout, but worth trying.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mouldy apple spirits nose. Pours light amber with little head. Very sweet brown sugar like taste with maybe toffee apples and a clear spike of spirits. Fairly balanced but not super special.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
7th January 2012
Clear deep gold beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate, quite light. Rich marmalade hops that are nicely balanced with coffee and a touch of vanilla. Finishes smooth with minor aniseed alcohol. Marmalade hop aftertaste. Doesn’t work at all as a Stout - nice try. Does work well in it’s own right - came over as an Imperial Coffee Golden to me! Hides the alcohol quite well and very drinkable.

from Erzbierschof - quite clear amber beer with no head retention; a bit chewy nose with robust notes of nuts; slightly perfumy and with hints of wood and cognac; full-bodied and pretty sticky palate; a strong malt sweetness; some decent bitterness and a dry cognac-like finish, fruity and caramelish
