3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smell of smoke and dark fruits with some oaky backnote. Pitch black with no Head. A bit like oil. Dark fruits in the taste as well with a dry and smokey aftertaste. Nice sour/bitterness from the rasberries puts a sweetness to this very masculine beer. Low in carbonation and the perfect match to a friday night indoors while the rain is pooring outside:) good choice for a celebration.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Dark brown with almost no head.
Aroma: Alcohol, berries, chocolate, ripe fruit.
Taste: Chocolate, Alcohol, Raisin, Figs, Hint of Coffee.
Palate: Alcohol is very present but in a good way. Kind of thin and low on carbonation.
Considering how strong this beer is it goes down damn easy. A perfect nightcap. Could use a bit more body tho.

Pre Bamberg bash tasting at Colin’s house with Mr Bois and James. Almost opaque dark brown beer, little tan head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Mild minerally carbonation. Dark chocolate malt with lightly tangy dark fruits. Spicy fruity whisky. The dark choc turns tangy before a semi dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Trembling Madness, Stonegate, York. This inky black beer has red ruby highlights and pours without any sort of head. It has an initial blackberry, raspberry and red-fruity flavour with spicy warming liquorice, tartness, vanilla and leather notes and an extremely powerful alcoholic fruity finish. Very good, but a bit too strong in the alcohol department for my liking.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle #1802. Black. Dark fruity, rubbery burnt ashy nose. Quite intensive, but not as salty licorice- like as many hefty RISes. Thick bodied, but not unpalatable. Rather smooth actually without being overly sweet, even if there’s virtually no carbonation. Oak, alcohol, smoke, some tar, and dark, dark, berries flavour-wise. Ok, but not mind shattering. Long finish, but easily forgot.
