AB:14 is the latest release in our Abstrakt series and is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock. Expect a big, bold mouth-feel backed by some powerful banana, caramel, toffee, vanilla and spicy hits woven together with some classic weizen notes. All balanced by an eclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Bramling Cross).
The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffee pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.
This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/impending-liquid-anarchy-some-upcoming-beers#sthash.Fvn7kB0i.dpuf

Hazy pale brown with no head. Nose is fruits, nuts. Aromas are dark fruits, candi, caramel, barley wine note. Low carbonation, oily texture. Long sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It was the beer
sweet, thick, lots of wheat and yeasty esters, fruity qualities. Very tasty, yellow hazy in color, sipping brew. Almost barleywine caramely.

Bottle@William K, Kurvi. Deep, reddish-amber color, no head. Sweet, oaky aroma reminiscent of barley wine. Sweet flavor with toffee, banana (as promised!), fig jam, vanilla, cigars and a hint of warming alcohol. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel. Very full body, very light carbonation. A dessert unto itself. Drink this by the fire when it's snowing outside!

Bottle @ home. Pours with a very dark red colour, small diminishing off-white head. Aroma is very rich in caramel, toffee, fruit and brown sugar aromas, with some minor notes of vanilla, chocolate and licorice; not very elegant, but right to the point, in typical abstrakt style. Taste is heavy sweet, with not much else; probably a bit too sweet? Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation.

On tap @ Csakajósör - Reddish deep amber colour, small but persistent beige head with lacing. Intense sweet malty aromas, caramel, red berries, dried plum, cloves, some banana with earthy notes, some flowery hops. Taste is sweet, bread with caramel, blackcurrant, raisins, red wine, yeasty notes, slight spicy hop bitteness. Full body, moderate carbonation, sticky texture. Alcohol is well hidden, but noticeable. Very nice speciality beer for winter.

37.5cl at OBE2015 (Thank you FatPhil) 7284/9992 Flat, sweer brew. Strong aroma of Kumquat. Spicy all around. Citrucy and mellow. Extremely well handles its alcohol. This would be a perfect winter beer. Loved it.

Reddish cognac colour, beer full of mini-UFO’s; small yellowish cream head, fast receding. Spicy, woody, fusely aroma’s. Fortified wine; sweet, caramel to toffee. Bitterish, with sweet-cakey background. Ripe banana, toffee, but with sweetness held in check; fusels. Something mineral, nearly salty too. Feels well-carbonated, very slick to oily; well-bodied, bit burning MF; alcoholheat. Little Weizen, IMO, rather a Barley Wine (or Wheat Wine, if you prefer) - whatever: good.

375ml bottle (300e of overpriced beer tasting) (Alus Celle, Riga)
Smells old and aged, a bit oxidised, but it gets better as it warms. Tops pour was clear, and that had some acetone. Taste of that is quite raisiny. Cloudier one had even more raisins, but more of a bread pudding melange. A little sticky, but not heavy or boozy, and at 10.2% that’s worth crediting it an extra point.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Malty caramelly soft spicy nutty aroma. Very sweet, nutty flavor with caramel, hints of cognac and dried fruit. Milk chocolate. Hardly any carbon. Alcohol totally hidden. Hardly recognizable as a weizenbock, but well done.

375ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Deep dark amber color. Sweet, caramel, spicy, clove, orange peel in aroma. Sweet, caramel, faint clove, ginger in taste. Complex and multi-layer taste. Sweet gingerbread in aftertaste. Despite of being way too sweet it’s very well done. Enjoyable brew.
