Bottled, special series
AB:14 is the latest release in our Abstrakt series and is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock. Expect a big, bold mouth-feel backed by some powerful banana, caramel, toffee, vanilla and spicy hits woven together with some classic weizen notes. All balanced by an eclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Bramling Cross).
The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffee pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.
This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/impending-liquid-anarchy-some-upcoming-beers#sthash.Fvn7kB0i.dpuf

Hazy amber with a low white head - huge wood and vanilla aroma - The wood and the vanilla olso dominates the taste, but there is some hints of malts in the back - Finish is again all wood and vanilla - Interersting and nice

On tap at Erzbierschof. Orange-amber color with small head. Strong banana syrup aroma, caramel, vanilla, sweet. Heavy malt body, bananas, toffee, vanilla in the taste. Smooth mothfeel, sweet finish, low carbonation. I’ve been waiting for a long time to try this and I’m glad I still have a bottle of this in my cellar.

Bottle - Boozy sweet barrel notes, light plum and some light berry. Clear copper with a thin beige. Nice sweet caramel notes with a bit of oak and heat. More like a dry Barleywine than anything else. Like it.

Served on tap at Brewdog Birmingham. Aroma is sweet sugary notes with toffee, caramel and more sweetness. This is to me like a barley wine but with zero bitterness. Taste is butterscotch richness with a generous mouthfeel but no head. Glad I tried it.

Gouté au DogTap le 14 Aout 2014, en pression. Caramel, banane, raisin, le tout dans une douceur et une finesse remarquable. Peut être trop ?

Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Small off white head, good lacing. Light reddish brown body. Nose is banana, syrup, a little cloves. Flavour is bananas and toffee with added bananas on the aftertaste with some syrup. A little warm booze follows on. Mouthfeel is thick, sticky, oily, quite chewy. Light carbonation. So much banana. If ever there was a dessert beer, this is it.

Aggressive under-ripe banana dominates scent. I love it. Some caramel, raisins, malt: all are swamped by the belligerent banana. Very sweet. Taste is again very sweet. Dominated by banana and toffee. Liquified banoffee pudding. Fairly oily and a little syrupy as it sits. Some warmth in the finish. It is an awesome novelty but becomes very cloying as you drink on.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orangey amber brown with a tiny beige head. Nose smells like banana, toffee, alcohol and candied sugar. Flavour is like a liquid bannoffee pie, with banana, toffee, candied sweetness and alcohol. Surprisingly tasteful, with a good balance. But difficult to drink due to the heat and abrasiveness. Cool gimmick beer but hard to drink.

Det här var en juste sak även om den var något spritig, smaken bar toner av karamell, råsocker och banan. Kroppen var stabil och balansen sådär...
