AB:14 is the latest release in our Abstrakt series and is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock. Expect a big, bold mouth-feel backed by some powerful banana, caramel, toffee, vanilla and spicy hits woven together with some classic weizen notes. All balanced by an eclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Bramling Cross).
The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffee pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.
This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/impending-liquid-anarchy-some-upcoming-beers#sthash.Fvn7kB0i.dpuf

Hazy amber with a low white head - huge wood and vanilla aroma - The wood and the vanilla olso dominates the taste, but there is some hints of malts in the back - Finish is again all wood and vanilla - Interersting and nice

Rated based on notes taken 15 Sep 2014 -- I love this style, and this is an interesting (but delicious) take on it. Well done brewdog.

Pours brown like sweet sherry with minimal carbonation and no head to speak of. Smells of liquorice and slightly woody. Tastes sweet, caramel and slightly dry after taste. Very thick on the palate, almost like food. Not sure this has any liking to a weizenbock i’ve ever had. strange flavour. undecided on whether i actually like this one or not.

37.5cl bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest. Body is hazy rusty brown, head is flat, minimal lacing. Nose is brown sugar, red wine, light coffee liqueur. Flavor is wine, toast, light smoke, spices, dried fruits, wood. Heavy sweet, light bitter, light sour. Finish is short lasting light roasty bitter, light sweet sour, hint of alcohol warmth. Full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite sweet therefore a bit heavy, very interesting and unique, but as it’s too sweet it’s not my style.

Bottle, many thanks to madmitch76, cheers ken! Bottle number 8565 of 9992 to toast Lucy leaving Brewdog Bar Bristol and going to Cloudwater. Poured into my EurHop festival glass. Dark murky colour, looks like sewage water, and also caramel colour too. Not good. Aroma is booze, toffee, bannoffee pie, sweet malts, alcohol and oak and wood. Taste is caramel, toffee pudding/pie, licorice, nectar, honey, some Simcoe bite and booze. A little too much crystal and too much booze on the finish. An interesting style and a good attempt at copying it but not my thing.

375ml bottle at home. Hazy dark brown with a small soapy tan head. Full body with low to moderate carbonation. Very sweet with some bitter tones. Raisin, caramel, malts, dried fruits, spices and wheat. A tasty full flavoured brew.

Was not aware of this series until now. Pretty interesting beer. Total danish pour but that’s all i needed to get the idea. Super sweet, lots of caramel, banana and toffee all coming through. A small pour is all I could probably have done. The entire thing is so sweet it would take me hours to get through a 12oz bottle. Nice to try it though. Very interesting and unique.

I hate these plastic corks... Pours very unclear amberbrown. Small like foam. Smell is rich, fruity, sweet, toffee, very intense! Taste is sweet, rich fruityness. Some alcohol warmth, yet its very well hidden. Has many aspects of a Barleywine! Some wood, some spice side to it as well. Very interesting taste, with a lot going on of which I am not even capable of beginning to describe. Low carbo, but not too low ( unlike many other AB beers ) Very nice mouthfeel ( bit sticky ) . All and all , a very good beer ! Unlike my expectations ( i was afraid this was going to be ’not my thing’ given the style ) I am totally in love with this one. Great beer ! , dangerously drinkable. It even reminds me of mikkeller’s beer for the kulminator... Which is miles appart stylewise ( and even ABV wise ) but still, it has similar tasteaspects.

Draught at Mikkeller & Friends. Low fluffy whie lasting head. Hazy brown body. Mild and sweet candy sugar fruity aroma. Mild and fruity flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness. Well balanced and alcohol is well hidden.
