COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A salt caramel popcorn imperial ale. Bourbon and rum barrel aged, this 12.8% ale has complex and twisting flavours. Bitter caramel, wood, smoke, spice, treacle and vanilla are all present and intertwine against a smooth and lightly chewy mouthfeel. The salt caramel popcorn lends subtle hints of a smoky brininess.

Bottle at home split with Sarah from Brewdog online. Aviscous chestnut brown / red pour with a fleeting tan head. Aroma is big oak, bourbon, rasin rum and vanilla. Pretty boozy in the nose. Some medeira cake. Flavour has an initial salty kiss, then sweet cakey, rum, dried fruits and considerable booze. Warming alcohol makes this a sipper. Full viscous body with low carbonation and sweet cakey finish. Dried fruits and run booze lingers. Tasty but not as good as other abstracts.

@ The Lets do a Chris O tasting. Pours red/brown with no head what so ever. Wood, smoke and vanilla milkshake on the nose at first then a huge dollop of cherry. Fruitcake taste, sweet but tempered with the smoke and whisky from the barrel, great.

@ Bishop Molbergs, Brewdog Tap-Takeover. Kraftt arom, kanske lite russin. Fin fyllighet i smak och kropp, kraftig även där.

Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Dark, coppery brown. Halo of off white head. Bonfire toffee. Light smoke. Boozy, ashy, wood. Light, dried vine fruit. Taste is toffee sweet. Dryness creeps in for balance. Heavy, but somehow, not clarty, palate. Lick of salt at the end. Felt like I could have been sipping a liqueur. Nice.

Pours deep burgundy with minimal off-white head. Aroma of, well, what? Booze, brown sugar, sweet wine, vanilla. Hard to define, but good! Almost like an american strong ale. Taste is a sweet explosion, very hard to pick out distinctive flavors, and almost too much but still nice. Body is rich and creamy. Warming, boozy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Almost clear deep copper liquid with minimal off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet booze, toffee, light salt, dried fruit, oak, bread and red berries. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of toffee, light salt, caramel and sweet booze. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Viscous. Nice.

Bottle. Dark brown with no head. Aroma of dried fruit and toffee. Taste is similar, lots of dried fruit, dates amd raisins. Quite sweet. Like a barley wine. The ingredients aren’t detectable but it’s ok
