Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet i Tromsø. Dukket hjemme 7 Sep 11. Ultradyprød. Egentlig svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som varer lenge. God kaffe/sjokolade/lakris/røstet malt-aroma. Oljeaktig preg i munnhulen. Avdempet smak med et tørt preg. Blir fort syrlig bitter med en langvarig ettersmak av kaffe. Selges i Norge som Høstporter.

Red-tinted dark brown pour. Huge tan head that is slow to fall and leaves an ample dosing of lacing behind. A fruity, roasty, malt aroma. Little bit of brown sugar notes as well. A peppery sweet malty flavor. Hint of chocolate and coffee. Slightly carbonic and thin because of such. Not bad. There are better porters out there though.

33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: A: dark brown with a strong pomegranate hue & mocha head / S: definitely hopped but not strongly or rather with near to no bitterness but never the less very citric & floral hops dominate the smell / T: cough syrup mixed with burned sugar mixed with some caramel & citric hops plus a touch of floral hops, still rather restrained in its hoppyness especially compared with some of the other BrewDog brews, maybe a bit too safe, especially considering where this was going for / toasted malts & dark grapes in the aftertaste / B: medium to light body, touch too light perhaps for a modern day porter / medium carbonation

33cl bottle pours deep ruby red to amber with thin mocha head. Wow, the aroma is a mix of ripe cherries and spicy black strap molasses as well as sort of a cognac sense, some chocolate and a touch of earthy dates well off in the background. The taste is similar and is fully spicy and somewhat anise spiciness forward with supporting notes of cherries, dates, a bit of chocolate. To midway it picked ups some malt roastiness and helps bring this whole load of flavors into the finish. Interesting brew and a very different take on a Porter. I do get a lovely chocolate after taste.

Bov (9815) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 29, 2011
bottled@erzbierschof’s bar - dark black beer under a solid creamy dark beige foam; superb lacework; coffeish aroma; pretty nutty with notes of black chocolate; medium-bodied, a very light sourness (the draught version shows much more) and a long coffeish, creamy and fairly bitter finish

DuffMan (7037) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle. Dark brown with a medium cream colored head. Aroma is roasty, some coffee and bitter chocolate. Bitter roast flavors, light coffee, light anise, hints of dark fruits perhaps, but just hints. There is an acidity in the finish that lends a nice drinkability in this is a pretty straightforward porter.

Boutip (4868) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a nice brown medium head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light black chocolate and some light notes of roasted malt are pleasant though more tame then I had expected considering the brewer. Taste is a mix between some light roasted malt notes with light dry black chocolate notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. This was an OK offering but would have liked a bit more complexity.

Svesse (6297) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2011
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 Nov 2011) Dark brown colour with hints of ruby. Lasting beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and ashes. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark bread, vanilla and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Very nice porter.
