330ml bottle pours almost black with some red highlights when held to a light source. About 2 fingers of mocha colored head which settles slowly revealing some really nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts with some chocolate and coffee with hints of vanilla and fruit. Taste is roasted malt bitterness with some chocolate and vanilla and dark fruits with very light hop bitterness. A rather enjoyable porter.

Bottle 330 ml from erzbierschof.ch. Dark brown with ruby reflections and tan head. Smells of roasted malt, toffy, chocolate. Creamy and mossy mouth, very malted, taste of coffee and choc with a point of vanilla, shades of licorice, nuts, toast. Rather dry, notes of bitterness of hop then roast

Bottled, 330ml from The North Bar, Leeds (Part of the first run batch of this beer). Deep tawny brown with cream head. Rich, fruity beer, plenty of depth with a hint of vanilla, cherries, plums and toasty bread. Some lingering sweetness, smooth on the palate. A very accomplished beer, good stuff.

mkel07 (3881) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 7, 2011
330ml bottle. Pours somewhat thin but this does not detract from the big black colours and the layer of tan foa. Visually eye catching. Coffee and chocolate aromas with a hint of vanilla. There is a sweetness and a silky mouthfeel and a burnt aftertaste. Just like Alice this one does everything you need it do do and then some.

Finn (4531) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2011
Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet i Tromsø. Dukket hjemme 7 Sep 11. Ultradyprød. Egentlig svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som varer lenge. God kaffe/sjokolade/lakris/røstet malt-aroma. Oljeaktig preg i munnhulen. Avdempet smak med et tørt preg. Blir fort syrlig bitter med en langvarig ettersmak av kaffe. Selges i Norge som Høstporter.

suprchunk (2454) - Crestview, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Red-tinted dark brown pour. Huge tan head that is slow to fall and leaves an ample dosing of lacing behind. A fruity, roasty, malt aroma. Little bit of brown sugar notes as well. A peppery sweet malty flavor. Hint of chocolate and coffee. Slightly carbonic and thin because of such. Not bad. There are better porters out there though.

33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: A: dark brown with a strong pomegranate hue & mocha head / S: definitely hopped but not strongly or rather with near to no bitterness but never the less very citric & floral hops dominate the smell / T: cough syrup mixed with burned sugar mixed with some caramel & citric hops plus a touch of floral hops, still rather restrained in its hoppyness especially compared with some of the other BrewDog brews, maybe a bit too safe, especially considering where this was going for / toasted malts & dark grapes in the aftertaste / B: medium to light body, touch too light perhaps for a modern day porter / medium carbonation

33cl bottle pours deep ruby red to amber with thin mocha head. Wow, the aroma is a mix of ripe cherries and spicy black strap molasses as well as sort of a cognac sense, some chocolate and a touch of earthy dates well off in the background. The taste is similar and is fully spicy and somewhat anise spiciness forward with supporting notes of cherries, dates, a bit of chocolate. To midway it picked ups some malt roastiness and helps bring this whole load of flavors into the finish. Interesting brew and a very different take on a Porter. I do get a lovely chocolate after taste.
