330ml bottle (Høst Porter). Very dark brown with a small beige head. Balanced sweetness, hints of vanilla coffee and chocolate. Some bitterness. A good porter for the Norwegian autumn, hence the name "Høst Porter" (Autumn Porter)

355ml bottle from Brewery Creek in Vancouver. Pours an almost black body, only brown around the edges with a beige head. Aroma is sweet malt, coffee, cocoa and some licorice. Taste mirrors this but with a hint of smoke. Fuller taste than most porters, a style I often find watery. Finish is nicely balanced and layered. Excellent.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. In Norway this one is rebranded as "Høst Porter" (translated: Autumn Porter). Pours a nice thick head with little retention. Black in color. Tastes of dark chocolate, nuts and toffee. Nice bittering hops. Good lingering aftertaste.

Bouteille 33cl.

12 fl oz bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 14OC11.

App.: Deep brown-black with a decent light mocha head. Aroma: Light, pleasant chocolate and coffee, a little tang, light woodsy character, some dark dried fruits and sour cherries, a touch ashen. Palate: Medium body, restrained effervescence. Flav.: Coffee, a bit smokey, tighter than the nose, still some lactic brightness, a touch of fruitiness, a little root beer-like herbaceousness; dry with a little bitterness, a touch of tang and a pleasant coffee, root beer finish.

Totally black colour with a dense light brown head. Aroma is very roasty with chocolate, coffee and some vanilla. Taste is also quite roasty with chocolate, coffee, some wood and alcohol all leading to a typically Brewdog hefty bitter finish. Although I’d like to see a bit better balance like always with Brewdog, it’s not going to happen so I’ve come to terms with it. Overall awesome!
