Poured out dark brown brew with reddish hues and a small light brown head that lives as a ring. Has a mellow nose based around roasted malts and a fruity background. Everything is mild - chocolate, vanilla, orange, something that faintly reminds me of oatmeal and faint coffee. Watching the Winnipeg Jets get intro’d for the first game in WInnipeg in 15 years - awesome! Tasty and easy to consume quickly with its well balanced mellow qualities. Roasty, light bitterness, a tartness that I didn’t expect, mild chocolate, vanilla, tasty and soothing. Light carbonation, almost medium bodied, I enjoyed it.

Pours a pitch black with a thin and short-lived tan head and a mild, sweet dark malt aroma - fig, raisin. Lovely fruity malt taste with light chocolate and earthy notes in the finish. Fantastic thick body, light carbonation. Very, very sessionable for a porter. Good.

Bottle, sold in Norway as "Høst Porter" (ufortunately there’s a small ortographical error there, it should be "Høstporter").

Bottle. Pours a pretty black brew, with dark brown edges. Tan head, which disappears. Wonderful aroma; mainly sweet, dark berries, hints of coffee. Slightly watery mouthfeel, but great flavors of coffee and dark fruits. Hints of dark licorice, very slightly reminiscent of salty licorice in the finish. Taste is on the bitter side with a dry finish. Leathery finish, taste and flavor wise. I detect roasted and crystal malts. Very well balanced and very enjoyable! The bitterness is definitely present, but the malt and the sweetness stands up to it very well. Fullfilling, yet easy to drink! Yum! A great porter in my opinion!

On tap at Beer Temple. Dark brown body with tall tan had. Nose of caramel and plenty of vanilla. Really nice taste of coffee, caramel and again a smooth, sweet vanilla. Quite bitter in the finish. Oily texture. A nice porter all around.

A really drinkable and beautiful brew. The pour is dark and purely opaque with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma is sweet and robust with light alcohol presence and dark chocolate. Some light coffee with a dark thick malt and light fruitiness. THe middle is sweet and roasted with a minute hop and coffee, liquorice and slight vanilla. There is a mild yeasty finish and light hop bitterness. The palate has a medium body with light soft carbonation and a mild oily texture.

Oh yes! A true beauty! A deep dark brown body, close to black, but with a faint red tint. The head is large, creamy, brown and fully lasting, and the lacing is excellent. Lovely roasted malty aroma with some hoppy hints: dark roasted coffee (or is it chocolate?), plum and cassis, the latter two are revealed after the brew has warmed up. The taste is even better, a medium sweetness perfectly balanced by a medium bitter long-lasting finish. Flavours are roasted with coffee, liquorice, some yeasty notes, cherry and other dark fruits, faint hints of resin and a grapefruity bitterness. Oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium body. Although the body is far from light, the beer would have felt even more complete with a somewhat fuller body. A great beer, but an imperial version would have been super!

Dark mahogany, beige head. Laces and stays. Dark fruits, chocolate. Starts bitter, sour aftertaste. Medium palate. Too heavy for my preference but tasty beer.

Sampled at CBF11 Almost black with a beige head. Roasted, flowery and fruity in both aroma and flavour. Pretty lightbodied.
