3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Biscuit malt with hints to dark fruit mixed with sour apple and spice and a smokey note which is interesting. Quite a sweet brew which has hints of having hung about in the bottle to long. Reminds me of sweeter, less hoppy version of 5am Saint.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a red tinge. The nose is of ginger bread and something tangy that I can’t put my finger on. The taste is of cake mixture, crunchy red fruit, possibly cranberries, then biscuits to finish. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, good but more interesting than good.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The AlphaDog is great with fatty, heavy food, such as pork, and is perfectly heavy for an ale. It unfortunately lacks a little in taste and flavour.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle@home from Brewdog online. Pours deep amber-brown with fluffy cream head and sweet caramel, peaches and malt on the nose. Quite sweet up front there’s a pleasing hint of red apple and some bitterness followed by a snap of malt and a long drying bitter finish. Medium carbonation this makes a decent enough session beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (330ml from Peckhams, Glasgow):
Biscuit malt aroma to begin with along with the tiniest bit of skunk and some spice on the nose too. There is some light, grassy hops and a touch of citrus too.
Tanned head on top of a reddish amber beer. The head is part foam, part bubbles and slowly recedes to thinner, pinky sized foamy one.
Malts & spice to begin with, there is some light caramel and a lingering nutty flavour. There is a bit of fruit in there from the middle towards the end of the sip that includes some toasted bitterness and hints of tropical fruit and berries; a real change up from the nose but a nice one.
Medium bodied and with a sweet, fruity feel to it along with medium carbonation and a lingering wet, bitter aftertaste.
This one started slow with not much in the way of an appealing smell, somehow I was expecting it to be more fruity and stronger when it came across like an English bitter but the taste was great and just what I had been expecting. There is a good mix of fruit and malts that go down well and the beer feels great as well

Caramel malt and slightly fruity. Sweet with roasted bitter from a dark brown ale. Tasty.
