3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at CBC.
Nice funky saison character. Barnyard. I don’t get any American influence here, though. Very decent saison, let’s hope they go further in this direction, too.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2012 Tap at CBC. Clear light amber with a small off white head. Quite malty aroma for a saison - caramel, plus notes of herbs (sage?), faint flowery hops, peppery spices. Taste is sweet caramel, toffee, herbal dry finish. Vapid, flat, too sweet.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On keg at BrewDog. Pours a dark golden colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of tangerines, rosemary, basil and ginger. Liight juniper and just a little soap. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Lingering rosemary, ginger and soap. Reminds me of Williams Fraoch.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Brewdog Camden. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium white head. Quite lasting foam. Aroma is yeasty, with spices, black pepper, citrus and earth. Aroma is similar, with a clearly dominant yeasty backbone. Citrus, earthy flavors. Body is medium with good carbonation. Overall, not really interesting. And where does the "American" in the name come from? No traces of brett in this one.
