Tap @ CBC, 2012.
Pours clear amber with a small, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma has strawberries, peach, pine, resin, caramel, red apples and light viniousness. Medium carbonation, great dry and very creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is bitter, soft butterscotch caramel, vinious. Very fine bitterness, peach, resin. Light sharp in alcohol, but not much. Good, but did it really have to be 14 %?

Bottle. Looking quite nice this one, with a dark golden body and a dense, beige head of moderate size. Intense aroma with some alchol notes, but mostly hoppyness, pine cones, pine apple and grapefruit. Some caramel maltyness in the back. Full-bodied, warm and quite sweetish on the palate, with a lovely almost stinging bitterness. Sweet, caramel background with lots of citrus peel, pine cones and pine apple up front. Lasting bitter, fruity and warming finish. Certainly a nice one, would be interesting to have it brewed at a lower strength. 120516

Sample from tap, CBC 2012. Clear, deep orange colour with a white head. Rich and fruity aroma with oranges, exotic fruits, and honey. Hop notes are rich: Pines and resins. The taste is bitter and fruity. Full body, oily texture. Long lasting bitter finish with lots of exotic fruits. The alcohol shows as a warmth in the finish. A very tasty DIPA indeed, but I see no need to push the abv. to 14 %
