From a bottle. Wow, this is a big beer, no, huge beer. The super rich hops flavours have a grapefruit edge, strong as hell but no sharp alcohol punch like I expected. This is a very well made beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Old rating. Batch #185. Pours amber, with a small creamy head. Aroma is tropical hops, roasted malts with caramel and a whiff of alcohol hotness. Flavour is sweet roasted malts and hops, before the hoppy bitterness kicks in with orange peel and grapefruit lingering throughout the finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the BD online shop in 2012... and finally consumed in 2015. Pours slightly turbid, a deep orange like Seville marmalade. Has a classic ’old IP’ nose of candied peel, a mix of caramel and sugary citrus. Medium carbonation. Toothsome sugariness, some more marmalade, barley sugar, boiled sweets, a bit of burnt orange tang. Firm bitterness to finish. Clearly way past its best but actually quite a pleasant drink, like a soft, very fruity barley wine.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, aged ~2 years to see what happens. Best before 05/06/2017. Aroma rich malty, fruity, raisins. Lightly hazy orange-amber colour. Taste is pretty strong alcoholic, high hopping still evident, but rather citrusy, zesty, and receding to background. Full malty taste, result similar to american barley wine. Interesting development, showcasing the hops (un)aging.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at BrewDog Camden on 9 Apr 2012. Poured a clear, bright orange, with a dense off white head. Aroma of massive resinous hops, grapefruit, passionfruit, mango and honeycomb. Super smooth mouthfeel. Golden syrup flavours, with tinned fruit, melon, biscuit, burnt sugar and herbs. Perfect balance of intense bitter hops, pine, grass and sweet fruit and caramelised sugar in the finish. Possibly the best BrewDog beer I’ve ever had...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber coloured brew. Very siropy, and alcoholic. Ruins it a bit, cause the fruity taste on its own is not bad at all.
