Fuck the system. Forget what you know. What has been. Bow to no one. History is bereft. Reorder. Disorder. Embrace the unknown. The groundbreaking. The challenging. The ichorous revolution is upon us. Try until your fingers bleed and your mind is numb.Try harder. Try this. Try that. Try the other. Try what hasn’t been tried. Then try again. Keep trying. 330ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium amber, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts well and leaves reasonable lacing. The aroma has strong pine resin and floral hops notes set against a fair amount of sweet alcohol, some berry notes and toffee malt. Powerful white pepper and pine resin hops up front lead into warming, sweet alcohol. There is a touch of Vegemite leading into some toffee malt in the mid-palate, with peppery hops, port and sweet alocohol in the finish. BrewDog make a lot of quite out there beers, most of which they pull off with aplomb. This one, however, is a bit of a miss. The hops flavours are actually quite pleasant, but they are dominated by the massive 14% ABV. If it was an imperial stout, it could handle that amount of alcohol, but in this imperial IPA it dominates the flavour way too much.

Bottle at BrewDog Camden on 9 Apr 2012. Poured a clear, bright orange, with a dense off white head. Aroma of massive resinous hops, grapefruit, passionfruit, mango and honeycomb. Super smooth mouthfeel. Golden syrup flavours, with tinned fruit, melon, biscuit, burnt sugar and herbs. Perfect balance of intense bitter hops, pine, grass and sweet fruit and caramelised sugar in the finish. Possibly the best BrewDog beer I’ve ever had...

Amber coloured brew. Very siropy, and alcoholic. Ruins it a bit, cause the fruity taste on its own is not bad at all.

One of those exciting Brewdog things, a kind of ’triple IPA’, with a coarse, yellowish white, thick but quickly dissipating head (the latter does not have to surprise given the very impressive alcohol strength) and a warm amber glowing colour, cristal clear, very pretty, quietly fizzy. Very, and I mean very powerful aroma, with overwhelming hops and equally overwhelming alcohol, but none of the two really disturb me because the whole bouquet boosts complexity enough, with hints of cognac, cloves, apple sauce, candied orange, tonic water, mango, grapefruit, banana liqueur, pine needles and methylated spirits. In the mouth an onset of a liqueurish sweetishness, as in Grand Marnier, medium carbonation, caramelly and honeyish malts smooth, not too thick especially in view of its strength, towards the end a ’green’, overpowering hop bitterness stripping the tongue along with the expected booze, reminiscent of brandy and gin and drying mouth and throat alike, in a sticky and - unfortunately but understandably - somewhat astringent way. An interesting experience nevertheless.

Bottled @beernest. This is the strongest IPA I have had, and the only "triple IPA", which is written on its label. I should say it is really a strong one, don't try it after you've had several beers.
