COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After two tempestuous months aging aboard BrewDog founder James Watt’s mackerel trawler on the North Atlantic, Atlantic IPA will be the first commercially available, genuine sea-aged IPA in two centuries - a project which is typical of the scale, audacity and boldness characteristic of BrewDog in its quest to take the UK beer industry by storm.

CaptainCougar (7107) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - APR 24, 2010
Bottle shared by fonefan on 8/28/09: Transparent copper bronze with a well-lacing white head. Aroma of grassy piny hops and lightly sweet doughy toasty caramel with a hint of wood. Starts with a light sweetness and good citrusy hoppy balance before a crisp drier bittersweet finish. Has a hint of saltiness. A pretty good IPA, but nowhere near worth the $20+/12oz price tag in the US.

7 beautiful woody aroma, a touch hazelnutty. Some butter later.
4 deep orange, healthy persistent head.
8 Freezer ice retronasals, some nettly hops too. tastes beautifully aged, mellowed and woody. Slight touch of walnuts and vanilla.
4 Pleasant carbonation. Smooth body. drying nuttiness. Finish walnutty and mellow, but also massively hopped
15 my god, they’ve cracked it. stunningly good beer, and the taste is all beer, not doped with whisky unlike the other tastiest things from Brewdog. Mellower as it warms, even some chocolate later.

DocLock (6826) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2010
Bottle courtesy of PUB’N via none of your Goddamned business. Pours hazy deep coppery orange with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is heavy resiny hops, fruit, some earthy and acidic notes, and some mild woody hints. Tastes very dry, very bitter, hoppy, with some fruit, dry floral, and scotch whisky notes. Stays bone dry as it warms, and the hops never let up either. Late heat makes this one a true scotch/beer hybrid.
