COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After two tempestuous months aging aboard BrewDog founder James Watt’s mackerel trawler on the North Atlantic, Atlantic IPA will be the first commercially available, genuine sea-aged IPA in two centuries - a project which is typical of the scale, audacity and boldness characteristic of BrewDog in its quest to take the UK beer industry by storm.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours a hazy caramel orange with a thin white head. Oxidized malt, some slightly old hops, a little bit of pine and citrus as it warms and some caramel. The oxidization is pretty apparent here, A little sweet, some grapefruit tones. Long bitter finish with a lot of wood and tannins. Cool story, neat process… mediocre beer.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Poured amber and clear with quite large and long lasting white head. Aroma contained hops, malts and nuts. Palate was quite full bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of malts, hops, fruitiness, alcohol, grass, sweetness and bitterness. Hoppy and bitter aftertaste.

I really enjoyed this beer. Deep orange pour with a nice size head. citrusy nose, reminded me of marmalade (sp?). smooth coating mouthfeel. light oak with a nice bitter finish. flavors were nicely balanced, the aroma was the stand out for me though. I would happily drink this over and over.

Bottle Thanks to Sam. I am to cheap to have ever sprung 30 bucks for this brew. Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. Aroma was not like your normal IPA. Sweet rich hops, some oak, and char. Taste much more of the sweetness caramel, oak, and light bitterness on the end.

Beer poured a brownish amber color with a half inch off white head that runs away quickly to a ring on the edge. The aroma is sweet and has some caramel notes along with a grainy touch. Taste is very hoppy and malty at the same time. Pine and wood notes along with an orange touch.

2009 Bottle - Thanks Sam! - Pours a thicker orange with a tight white head...aroma is resiny hops, dry tart oak, some caramel and some grain...flavour is similar, dry and tannic, caramel malt, citrus, with a lingering bitterness and feel that coasts the mouth...really enjoyed the beer and backstory...@ $30 a pop, split one with 5 other people and you might not kick yourself...

Bottle… Lightly hazy orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma offers light caramel and musky hops. Also picking up some alcohol, salts and limited wood. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Leans on the bitter side of balance, but very smooth and a hint salty. Earthy, but not woody. Bittersweet finish. Price should never be a factor as this site is neither affiliated with Consumer Reports nor Ralph Nader. Too expensive? Don’t buy it. Bottle generously shared by darkguardian!
