3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BuckeyeBoy (2178) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 9, 2009
Bottle Thanks to Sam. I am to cheap to have ever sprung 30 bucks for this brew. Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. Aroma was not like your normal IPA. Sweet rich hops, some oak, and char. Taste much more of the sweetness caramel, oak, and light bitterness on the end.

Beer poured a brownish amber color with a half inch off white head that runs away quickly to a ring on the edge. The aroma is sweet and has some caramel notes along with a grainy touch. Taste is very hoppy and malty at the same time. Pine and wood notes along with an orange touch.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 12, 2009
2009 Bottle - Thanks Sam! - Pours a thicker orange with a tight white head...aroma is resiny hops, dry tart oak, some caramel and some grain...flavour is similar, dry and tannic, caramel malt, citrus, with a lingering bitterness and feel that coasts the mouth...really enjoyed the beer and backstory...@ $30 a pop, split one with 5 other people and you might not kick yourself...
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2009
Bottle… Lightly hazy orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma offers light caramel and musky hops. Also picking up some alcohol, salts and limited wood. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Leans on the bitter side of balance, but very smooth and a hint salty. Earthy, but not woody. Bittersweet finish. Price should never be a factor as this site is neither affiliated with Consumer Reports nor Ralph Nader. Too expensive? Don’t buy it. Bottle generously shared by darkguardian!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 5, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a medium copper with thin head. Lightly roasted caramel malts in the aroma. Very malt-forward IPA with a base of caramel, light oak, a little citrus fruit and a substantial, long lasting hop bitterness to finish. Shines with its balance and layers of malt. Medium bodied and drinks quite smoothly. Nice representation of a strong English IPA. Worth what they’re charging for it? Hell no.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2009
Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Love the idea behind this beer and followed it on the video blog. Gold, clear thin white head. Wild subtle hop. Toffee in mouth. Some more hop on the finish, but compared with their other IPAs, this was not as good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - SEP 22, 2009
2009-09-22, tasting at Papsoe, 7-4-6-3-13=33 Hazy amber color; dusty and sandy malt aroma, old socks, a bit earthy and musky. Medium body strength, maybe less; strong bitterness, but somehow boring; ashes.
2009-08-24, courtesy of Laurent Mousson, 7-4-6-2-12=31 Hazy amber color. Light oak and alcohol aroma. Caramel flavor, with a too high perception of dust and grilled nuts, ending in ashes; the final bitterness is too disturbing. Too strange.
