3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3492) - Arlington (Pentagon City), USA - JUL 3, 2010
Nice caramel coloured body with a thin tan head and a bit of opacity and a few bubbles rising. Aroma of oldish hops, tons of malt, alcohol, raisins, nuts and a bit of pitted fruits. Medium-bodied; Relatively flat (bu that seems right) with a light european hoppiness, some mild sugars and a heavy dose of malt and alcohol. Aftertaste is nice and clean - malt coupled with a good amount of hops, showing a bit of an old ale character of must, basement and some pitted fruits - this definitely shows the journey around the Atlantic Ocean! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased for around US$30 at Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York, sampled at home in Washington on Christmas in 2009.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2012
Bottle at some expense from Utobeer a while back. It pours clear orange amber, with a decent white head. The nose is quite sweet actually - caramel, raisin, wood and resin. The taste is caramel, toffee, very woody, biscuit, dried fruits, spice, hint of citrus pith and some alcohol warmth, with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body and a low-moderate carbonation. I imagine this was a lot more vibrant and hoppy to begin with, but it actually still drinks pretty well.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 10, 2012
bottle... more gimmicks or a solid brewdog beer? back to the gimmicks on this one, weaves a creative brewing story but falls flat in taste and execution, don’t waste your money... the aroma has lots of alcohol, a bit of caramel, and citrus... lots more malt on the taste than anything, boring with an off finish... pass
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Frenger (213) - Derby, Alabama, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2011

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dimenhetfield (1731) - , Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Pint bottle poured into glass. This is my type of IPA. Now my senses may be off slightly since I’m just coming off a 2 day head cold and my nostrils have been filled with god knows what, but I really like the aroma of this. Slight honey and hops mixed with a bit of citrus. Flavor is damn tasty as well. The hops don’t jump right out at you from the get go but slowly make it’s presence know on the back end. Easy sipping beer.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Nightfall (1263) - Hamburg, GERMANY - JUL 28, 2011
Bottle @ RBESG 2009 Harlequin, Sheffield , and also bottle at home:
Amber colored with average off-white head.
Heavily hoppy aroma and so is the taste but backed by a strong sweet malty background. Bitter finish
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gyllenbock (1914) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2011
Bottle.
Dark brownish/orange with a large white head. A lot of malt in both the aroma and taste, not that hoppy. I think that the bottle was on the old side. Still quite good but not that fresh anymore.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rosenbergh (3486) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 3, 2011
330 ml bottle. Finland.
Hazy amber colour with small white head.
Mild fruity/berry hoppy aroma with some alcohol.
Cranberries, berry hoppy and malty flavour.
Quite mediocre IPA for BrewDog. I want my €12 back.

330ml bottle @ Kaunis Kampela, Helsinki
Pours dark orange with a tiny head. Aroma is woody and has hints of oak. Taste is malty with woody and oaky notes and hints of vanilla. Smooth, salty finish. Not your typical IPA, but a nice beer nevertheless.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Blairgus (1189) - California, USA - MAR 11, 2011
dark amber and slightly hazy.
smells mainly of sweet malt, hints of raisin and less so hints of hops
tastes like hop stems, w/ a kind of astringent bitterness
has huge hop finish. by the end i was picking up oak in the flavour and finish. this is a pretty good beer. not amazing but lots better than many. i certainly don’t think it’s worth £9 a bottle!
