3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, USA - JAN 30, 2010
Bottle: Beautiful bottle label. Pours a nice orange hue with a puffy white head. The nose is musty and earthy with some very ’noble’ hops, lots of deep creamy body hops and a light citrus note. Nice balance to the malts in the mouthfeel and a light snappy tail with some of the hops and malts. Seems more of an experience than a great beer. Good idea though, who else has explored simply the history of a style to exploit prices? Although I’m sure they probably took a loss in the end, as did everyone who ever carried/bought or drank this beer, it’s still a good idea and an interesting story to tell. Earthy british IPAs by boat though aren’t a novel idea. Every british bitter is undergoing the same process as we speak for regular prices.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2012
Bottle at some expense from Utobeer a while back. It pours clear orange amber, with a decent white head. The nose is quite sweet actually - caramel, raisin, wood and resin. The taste is caramel, toffee, very woody, biscuit, dried fruits, spice, hint of citrus pith and some alcohol warmth, with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body and a low-moderate carbonation. I imagine this was a lot more vibrant and hoppy to begin with, but it actually still drinks pretty well.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 10, 2012
bottle... more gimmicks or a solid brewdog beer? back to the gimmicks on this one, weaves a creative brewing story but falls flat in taste and execution, don’t waste your money... the aroma has lots of alcohol, a bit of caramel, and citrus... lots more malt on the taste than anything, boring with an off finish... pass
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Frenger (213) - Derby, Alabama, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2011

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dimenhetfield (1731) - , Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2011
Pint bottle poured into glass. This is my type of IPA. Now my senses may be off slightly since I’m just coming off a 2 day head cold and my nostrils have been filled with god knows what, but I really like the aroma of this. Slight honey and hops mixed with a bit of citrus. Flavor is damn tasty as well. The hops don’t jump right out at you from the get go but slowly make it’s presence know on the back end. Easy sipping beer.

Bottle @ RBESG 2009 Harlequin, Sheffield , and also bottle at home:
Amber colored with average off-white head.
Heavily hoppy aroma and so is the taste but backed by a strong sweet malty background. Bitter finish
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gyllenbock (1914) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2011
Bottle.
Dark brownish/orange with a large white head. A lot of malt in both the aroma and taste, not that hoppy. I think that the bottle was on the old side. Still quite good but not that fresh anymore.

330ml bottle @ Kaunis Kampela, Helsinki
Pours dark orange with a tiny head. Aroma is woody and has hints of oak. Taste is malty with woody and oaky notes and hints of vanilla. Smooth, salty finish. Not your typical IPA, but a nice beer nevertheless.

dark amber and slightly hazy.
smells mainly of sweet malt, hints of raisin and less so hints of hops
tastes like hop stems, w/ a kind of astringent bitterness
has huge hop finish. by the end i was picking up oak in the flavour and finish. this is a pretty good beer. not amazing but lots better than many. i certainly don’t think it’s worth £9 a bottle!
