3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8th June 2012
Hazy amber beer, tidy off white head. Mildly crisp palate, fairly dry. Vanilla oak and a little sour whisky, quite mild and in good balance with the oak. Palate turns softer and sublte orange hops appear before a sei dry finish. Not bad! A bit off the beaten track.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Keg at BrewDog Camden, London. Pours clear, copper-gold with. Small, white foam head. Aome aged, souring malts in the nose. Flavor is pretty messy, lightly tangy with muted fruit tones, some dry wood, a bit of sugar, some lager character. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Mildly sweet finish with subtle warmth, toasted sugar, light wood, some more tangy malts. This is a very weak effort. If you can age a lager, this isn’t how to do it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home (Bitter Virtue) - 22/09/12.
Pours a hazy pale golden with a thin white head that soon clears to the edge of the glass.
Pale malts, orange peel, melted plastic, grain and herbs on the nose.
Malt, grain, wood, medicinal tones, citrus and herbal aspects to the flavour with some hints of whisky.
Medium bodied, a little watery for 7.7%, medium carbonation with a medicinal orange flavour in the finish.
Overall something a little different and in my opinion it is certainly drinkable. I’d share a bottle again if someone else had already sourced it, but I wouldn’t fork out £4.50 for it in the future myself!
