jgb9348 (3492) - Arlington (Pentagon City), USA - MAR 15, 2010
Nice crisp, slightly hazy copper coloured body with a thin slightly off-white head and a few bubbles in the centre. Aroma of fresh hops, medicine, candy cherries and some golden raisins - interesting to say the least. Medium-bodied; Chewy mouthful at first with some alcohol and medicinal bite, then showing the bitter hops soon afterwards. Aftertaste is long lasting and bitter, with grapefruit and pine strongest, all followed with an alcoholic warmth and some apricot flavours, as well. Overall, an interesting beer, and shows quite differently than their other IPAs, so a very welcome addition. I don’t know how I’d characterise this one, but it wouldn’t be an IPA - perhaps an english strong or almost even an old ale to me. I sampled this 600 mL bottle? purchased from Chevy CHase Wine & Spirits in Washington DC on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 15-March-2010. Batch 012, Best Before 08-16-10, is that for Americans?

lusikka (2533) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 26, 2012
330 ml bottle @ Naamat, Tampere. BBE 15.12.2012.
Pours a slightly unclear copper colour with a chunky, lacy head. Aroma of heavy caramel malts, grass and exotic fruits. Flavour is heavy malty as well, with caramel, grass, hops, sweet fruits and some metallic notes. Medium bodied, rough mouthfeel and a sweet malty alcohol finish with low bitterness. Way too malty, sweet, boozy and stuffy, no floral or piny hop bite here.

Flaske 0,33l fra Systembolaget, Kiruna. Drukket hjemme 5 Mai 12. Gyldenbrun. Høyt luftig skum som fester seg litt til glasset. Litt uklar. Aroma av røde plommer. Lite kullsyre. Smaken er plommer og mandler. Litt ensformig.

Lilja (179) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 13, 2012
En väl avvägd IPA. Lagom söt, lite oljig i konsistensen och med en tydlig beska. Tropisk frukt och en aning karamell toner.

Bottle from BrewDog Glasgow. Tropical reuit & resin aroma. Hazy amber brown colour, not much head. Hop & tropical fruit flavor. Hoppy aftertaste. One of BrewDogs better beers.

The smell and the taste is sweet with elements of roasted malt, brown sugar, fruit cake and alcohol. The the taste has a pleasant bitterness. I would not classify this beer as an IPA but more as a "Scottish Ale".

Clear amber - brown beer. Softish palate, a little dry. Low carbonation. Bitter toffee and nuts. Some repressed fruity hop. Bitterish cinnamon and bubblegum. Finishes dry with a trace of banana. A lot going on here but not coming over as that well integrated. Alright though.

BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2012
26 Nov 2009: Third BrewDog beer of the evening, poured into my lovely ’Judas’ glass, almost a full year of life left according to the label. Murky dull, deep, old gold/muddy terracotta coloured body with an off-white head on top. Smells of hops and more hops, maybe a hint of malted barley in there too. Good hoppy taste, not over the top, just heavy on the hops. The ABV is feelable and sits well within the taste and structure of the beer. Could do without some of the condescending blurb on the label, but the beer is very good.
