Pours pitch black, full body with a brown thick head. Smells of soy, vanilla, chocolate and alcohol? Tastes of dark chocolate, candi sugar, liqourice and a hint of rum. Nice lingering bitterness.

One-third pint, draught at BrewDog in Edinburgh. Lasting, brownish head to a devil-black body. Aroma of grainy chocolate malts, vapour from the alcohol. The flavour profile contains dried fruits, vanilla sweetness and coffee grounds with alcohol warming down the throat. Full bodied. Nice sipper, 14.04.2012.

(Draught at BrewDog Camden, London, 19 April 2012) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, cocoa, liquorice and a touch of soy sauce. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, raisins and a touch of smoke or peat. Full body, fairly sweet with a generous coffee bitterness. Lovely beer.

Dark and roasty, chocolate and sweet. An enjoyable export-style stout rather than imperial really. Gentle carbonation.

Keg, Brew Dog Edinburgh. Black looks with a thin tan head. Nose had notes of rubber, booze, paint shop, dark fruits and roasted malt. Fairly complex and robust flavour, which was pretty sweet with similar qualities to the nose, in addition to some tasty choc notes. Decent body and slid down nice n’ smooth. This was good. Well done Chris, have a wee pat on the back son.

Sweet aroma and flavour, creamy texture, white sugar and a bit down on aroma. Misses either freshness or body. Not as expected. Or should I have chosen a different beer after two hoppy IPAs? (Sample glass at the Brewdog Camden bar)

Draught @ Brewdog Camden, London

Pours pitch black with a tiny light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, raisins, ripe fruits and ash. Surprisingly sweet taste with a lot of roastiness, ripe fruits, licorice, molasses and syrup. Finish is sweet and slightly roasty with some raisin and syrup notes. Quite sweet for an imperial stout, perhaps slightly too sweet for my taste.

On tap at Brewdog Camden. Pours a dark brown color with a small brownish head. Aroma is sweetish with molasses and little coffe and roasted notes. Some plums. Taste is similar, little acidity, little roasty bitterness, nice figgy sweetness. Body is medium to full with soft carbonation. Overall, decent but nothing mind blowing.
