4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at Brewdog Camden. Dark brown with very little head. Just a bit of golden bubbles round the edge of the glass. Aroma dark fruit, vinous and a bit of booze, lots of oatitness. Taste is very fruity, roasted malt, bread, maybe bit of liquorice. Very nice. Very thick, slick and oily. Some malt sweetness. Oaty sweet finish. Lovely.

On keg at BrewDog, Edinburgh. A black beer with a decent tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasty malt. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Caramel and warming alcohol linger nicely.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep black, thin head. Some Belgian chocolate, a touch of liquorice and aniseed, and a distinct raisiny character. Nice creamy mouth feel (almost like a milk stout), more coffee on the flavour but still retaining the nose notes, including the raisins, almost amarone-like at times. Very nice.

Keg at BrewDog Edinburgh, Black inky pour, thin tan head. Boozy raisin nose, red fruit, open alcohol, hint of sake/coconut too. Some oak. Thick viscous body of cocoa, milk chocolate, some rum and a hint of tannin even. Some coffee grounds. Long, bittersweet finish. Nice!
