3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,33l bottle at home shared with gf, from trade with Sebilinz, many thanks. BB 10/2022. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells of rum, liqueur, alcohol, wood, raisins, light marzipan, light coconut notes, light charcoal, some licorice. full body, soft carbonation, oily / light astringent mouthfeel. rather strong alcohol punch, dried fruits, rum, liqueur, light licorice, caramel, wood, plums, light charcoal. finishes with alcohol, licorice and rum. lovely smell, taste is quite alcoholic. overall good stuff but the booze makes this quite heavy. Overall too boozy for my liking. If I had another bottle, I would make sure to leave this in the cellar for another couple years.

Tasted 23/08/15. Black hole dark with minimal head. Milk chocolate aroma. Big rich taste of roasted 90% cocoa chocolate with the rum & raisin adding a rounding sweetness with a long complex finish. An exceptional Imperial Stout.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2015 24.12.2014. Very intense aroma with syrupy sweet roasted malts, chocolate, alcohol. Intense, full bodied, chocolate, roast, rum etc but too much alcohol. Disappointment for a paradox, too boozy.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a black beer with as good as no head.
Smells Vanilla, oaky, coffee, chocolate, roasted malts. Small medicinal hint sadly.
Tastes amlt bitter.
Full thick beer wich leaves a malt bitter palate where you pick up a lot of the rum barrel.
Great degustation beer!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
0.33l bottle. Thanks for sharing with me Chris. Black body, light brown head. Aroma and taste of dark rum, coffee, chocolate, cream, sour cherry and floral hops. You can really feel the alcohol, but it’s not disturbingly harsh at all. Complex and heavy. Not an everyday beer, that’s for sure.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from local distributor. Aroma strong, rum evident, also loads of roasted flavours. Pitch colour, but ordinary texture. Taste reveals extended barrel exposure IMO. 12 months brought out lots of rum flavours, which is cool, but also brings out alcohol, which impacts drinkability and overall deliciousness. Excellent beer nevertheless.
