Opaque black - brown beer, short bubbly tan head. Palate is airy and light and slight soft. Modest fine carbonation. Rich tangy dark malts, but not heavy at all. Clear rum and raisan and other tangy dark fruits. Some alcohol spice but it’s not a hot beer. Finishes light leaving a slight warm afterglow. Pretty good.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - big thanks to Josh. Pours deep brown with a foamy beige head. Nose has lots of tangy dark malts, some dark fruits, hints of plastic. Medium to big sweet flavor, lots of booze-soaked dark fruits, rum, straight booze, slight burnt plastic. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Hot finish, some astringent burnt wood, more boozy fruits, some mild bitter cocoa. A bit heavy-handed.

Bottle at home, from BOE, 25/10/13. Pours mid black with a good sized mid dirt tan head. Nose is dark malt, molasses, good woody rum notes, booze, bitter dark chocolate, dark fruits. Taste comprises dark malts. booze forward, big roast, bitter chocolate, rum baba, rum’o’clock, does the job on the tin ! Full bodied, soft carbonation, big boozey do roastness in the finale, hot tail lights, chewy like ! Decent enough impy, falls short of the top draw 4, a little harsh on the booze but god tackle for a 15 er !
